2021-2022 USC Transfer

same here.

are u marshall?

Yes.

Is anyone still waiting to hear from the school of dramatic arts?

I’m waiting on my Marshall sgr as well.

Anything? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

not yet :(( BUT I did finally get a reply from my AO! she emailed me back a couple hours ago. she was just apologizing for the long wait and telling me that she’s aware I haven’t gotten a decision yet and that I should be receiving a notification soon. I’m really hoping I get to hear some good news soon, I worked so hard :sob: she was also really sweet in the email, I did mention in the first email that I hoped she was enjoying her summer/taking some time off for herself/etc and she did talk about that in the reply today and asked me about my summer as well. that made me forget a little about the pain of waiting 2 weeks for her to email me back lol

It will come! Prob very very soon since she emailed you back.

unfortunately, I just heard back and I got rejected. been crying ever since I saw that status update… I still can’t believe it. I’ll get over it eventually but usc has been a dream of mine for so long. but everything happens for a reason so I’m sure this rejection also happened for a reason. I hope whoever is still waiting on a decision gets accepted! thank you so much to everyone who has helped me out on this forum, you guys are truly amazing and will do amazing stuff regardless of which institution you end up getting into!

Hi there, I wanted to reach out and let you know that I am sending my deepest apologies and thoughts to you. I too got rejected today to the Marshall School of Business. I had applied back in November 2020 and got a SGR back in April. However, for you, me, or anyone else, everything happens for a reason. There are so many incredible institutions globally, and no matter what, life always has a way of working itself out.

Best of luck and congratulations to all who got accepted to USC or any other college this year!

My Stats (rejected) :
College- California Community College Transfer
GPA- 3.92
SGR- 4.0
Major Classes- 4.0
All Prereqs. completed - A in both Calc. 1&2
Extra Circ.- 2+ (business-related and full-time job for 2 years)
Units- 70

Same here. Very similar stats to you. I thought my B in calc on my SGR was the reason I was denied. Your post gives me a bit of comfort knowing that it wasn’t those couple points that held me out. My GPA finished at 3.92 so it is just frustrating to get told in the rejection that the average was 3.7.

thank you so much for reaching out <3 I am so sorry to hear about your rejection, your stats seem amazing, they really missed out on a great candidate!

I’m a firm believer in the fact that everything happens for a reason, and whatever ends up happening is ultimately what’s best for us, whether we realize it in the moment, a week later, or a year later. but in the end we’ll all be thankful for what ended up happening, whether we liked it in the moment or not. however, I can’t deny how much this rejection crushed me. it’s been 2 hours since I got rejected and tears are yet to stop coming out of my eyes lol. usc has been my dream school for the longest time, and the fact that I had to wait 2 months since submitting my spring grades just for a rejection crushes me even more. but oh well, this is life!

once again, I’m really sorry to hear about your rejection. you sound like a great person and I’m sure you will excel no matter where you end up going! good luck <3

Also, same. 3.92, rising sophomore, 57 units. Lot’s of EC’s that pertained to major, excellent LOR’s. Honestly don’t know where it went wrong… Oh well just have to apply again. Congrats again to everyone!

Wow, I am stunned and so sad. You are all very qualified - OBVIOUSLY. I am sorry you waited this long to get rejected. Honestly, I thought for sure you were in, especially @wvxsvx. ugh, it’s just awful that you had to wait this long for this kind of news, shame on them. And no one did anything wrong, there is only so much space and way too many great applicants. A space can disappear or go to someone else for any kind of reason - gender, demographics, certain major, maybe someone else had something just a wee bit better in something they were looking for - things way out of your control. You were you, and you are fabulous, there just wasn’t a spot.

To anyone that got bad news today, do not let any school tell you or make you feel that you are not awesome, only you can allow that to happen… so don’t! Immediately take on the ā€œif they don’t want me, I don’t want themā€ attitude. At least for now. If you want to try again great, but frankly, I don’t know how somebody stomachs this ride twice, but I know people do. Gutsy fo sho.

I hope you all have great alternatives - I have put many through college (some done, some still going) and honestly what they say is true - it is way more about you and what you put into wherever you are that matters way more than the school itself. So go (or stay) somewhere else, do great things for yourself and the world, and make USC regret not choosing you. Or at least know inside that they should regret it.

Maybe because you are somewhere else, you will meet your soul mate, a life long friend or go through other wonderful things because you didn’t go to USC this year. Wait for it, great things will come, be open to that everyday. Be mad or upset for a day or two, then let it go and look for the sunshine around you in something else. Sounds Pollyanna, I know, but free yourself of this disappointment as soon as you can and move on.

Wish you all the best and if you need to bounce anything off me or anyone here, this place will be around to support you however we can. Hugs.

Got in as a spring admit to Marshall at around 5 p.m. today. My heart goes out to everyone that may have gotten rejected. I feel your pain. Out of the 15 schools I have applied to over the last two years, USC is the first school I have been accepted into.

Stats: I am a rising sophomore at the College of the Canyons, Honors College with a 4.0 G.P.A. and 56 units. I have a Government Internship and have completed a Grant Fellowship. High grades, many extra-curricular, and many units in college.

Highschool: Valencia High School G.P.A.: Weighted 3.98, Unweighted 3.75, 5 AP GOPO, 4 AP MICROECON, 4 AP STATS, 1310 SAT, 28 ACT.

I hope that this may be helpful! To those who got in, Fight on! For those that were rejected, do not give up hope…I was certainly at that point just before I got my status update.

Hey y’all i just got my decision back and got into usc yesterday at 5pm for marshall but got spring admission. Anyone know if it’s possible to get on campus housing in the spring or should I expect to look for an off campus apartment? @CADREAMIN what are your thoughts? You seem really experienced with all this. Thanks!

how long after you sent spring grades did you get you decision?

thank you so much for your kind words and for your continuous help on this forum throughout the past few months. I’m slowly accepting it and feeling better about myself and the outcome of what happened, but it’s ok. it takes me some time to bounce back up.

everything really does happen for a reason, I’ll always be a firm believer in that. so I know for a fact that the universe gave me this rejection for a reason. can’t wait to see where life takes us all, with or without USC! xx
