Thank you! I’m so happy that all my hard work paid off. 🥲
Perseverance can be a very good thing. Spring?
Fall

Wow fantastic! Now find a place to live! Or are you local?
I’m local but I was considering finding something nearby off campus. However at this point I think everything is full.
There’s this page to check out if interested
I’ll definitely check it out. Thank you!
I spoke to an OA a few weeks ago regarding the upcoming orientation and I was told that an Academic Advisor would reach out to me to map out what courses to take. Orientation is only 11 days away and I’ve yet to speak to anyone in regards to my classes.
Should I reach out and try to schedule a meeting? Or should I just wait for them to reach out like he said.
You should be able to figure out a lot of that on your own - you will schedule classes at orientation or whenever you appt is, and it is best to be very familiar with them and what you want to take or you will just get put in things…better to go in prepared. Know your major requirements and pre-reqs. Advisors don’t typically map out classes for anyone ahead of orientation. They can answer questions, but I wouldn’t count on them to do a plan for you before orientation. You are more likely to get info if you ask them about certain classes or requirements you are considering, rather than think you are getting a plan all done.
In general, once school starts you will have a meeting with them where you do map out the plan.
I’ve already taken the liberty to pick out some courses to take for my first semester at USC, I was just under the impression from what the OA told me that an academic advisor would contact me to go over exactly which ones would be best.
I guess I’m good to go for orientation
Great! If you can go in with your schedule pretty much done it is so much better than them sticking you in classes. And if one you need shows full they may have spots saved so ask about that too. You could even email your advisor ahead of orientation and ask about that. We just haven’t seen them being proactive - they are better at responding than initiating.
When looking up the word ‘tenacious’ (also deserving) in the dictionary, your picture should pop up! It has been a minute, but this morning I woke up thinking of you and your appeal. I am delighted you were successful. The world is your oyster! Wishing you so much happiness and success at UCS! SLAY SLAY SLAY!

So I got accepted but for spring 2022, is there absolutely no way I can take a few classes this fall?
You can take classes at your current school/CC if you have any requirements/pre-reqs to complete, but you can’t take any classes at USC.
Thank you for thinking about me and my journey to this point… I am still feeling the effects I am actually a TROJAN!!! Me?! After everything… I AM STILL HERE! I am extremely grateful and humbled to have been apart of a wonderful group of people here on CC. You guys have all been super supportive and positive which helped me stay positive for all of you… we were all here for one another.
Any one got their FA recently? We submitted latest requested documents few days ago and have not heard anything back yet?
So the kid and I toured USC and Gateway this past Wednesday. She absolutely loved both places. We had an amazing tour guide at the school named Brandon. It was a beautiful day to be in California. She so excited to attend.
So happy you are both happy! Beautiful campus isn’t it?! There’s so many nooks amd crannies she will find over time there that are gorgeous! Glad you liked Gateway - it’s right there - and parents love that too! Living there is so easy compared to a house. Great news!
Were there several on your tour? Glad those are back!
Yes from my understanding the tours right now are restricted to admitted students and the cap is 10 people per tour. They have tours scheduled every half hour starting at 9AM weekdays until the end of the month. It was a great day. We also spent a pretty penny at the bookstore. I’d like to add we didn’t have an appointment to visit the bookstore and just walked right in.
What a funny coincidence, my mother and I actually visited USC and Gateway this past Tuesday and our tour guide was Brandon as well! Gateway was surprisingly nicer than I expected and the amenities are definitely a nice addition. I hope to meet some transfer students from this forum there in person this fall
