Looks like another day with no admissions decisions.
???
@ziveli513 Congratulations to you and your daughter!!! As another EA Parent that rode a similar ride(Not as long as you!) I would continue to login everyday to see your status. I am so happy that your daughter got in. Good Luck with everything!!! WE ARE!!!
@ziveli513 CONGRATULATIONS!!! ??
@annao2019 You will love UA! I know several alumni and lots of kids from PA who go there. Best of luck to you!
@annao2019 I am so very sorry and surprised you got 2+2 after waiting all this time
And because of your legacy story going back to your great grandmother !!!
So glad university of Alabama will be an exciting new chapter for you, great future ahead for you!
Blazing your own path, brilliantly!!!?

@ziveli513 DUS rocks (agriculture is always a good choice too for those interested) ~ Congrats to your daughter on her acceptances. There are really some great schools out there depending upon what a student is looking for in the college experience, and where a student will grow to call their home away from home. Btw @annao2019 The University of Alabama sounds like an awesome choice!
@off2co11ege WE ARE!!! So grateful to share this crazy EA ride with you, glad we had a good outcome after all. You have been so nice and supportive , made the waiting, waaaaay past 12/24 EA and then waaaaay past 1/31 so much more pleasant
Good luck to you!!!
@amomoffour I am so grateful to you for your support from the beginning
And grateful you started this thread, in such a positive way
so many of us have shared info here that was helpful for us and will be helpful in the future
And thank you for saying all are welcome, imo though annoying to some at times, all the many posts here from all of us serve a purpose in the end
Comfort and venting for ourselves maybe, but also lots of useful info and updated experiences shared
For all
WE ARE! Onward and upward
@ErRnMom ?thank you!!! So happy
@annao2019 good luck to you at UA! Sorry you didn’t receive the design you wanted from PSU. Be proud there were a record # of applicants this year.
@ziveli513 congratulations to your daughter. May she choose wisely.
Decision
@bamamom2021 thank you very much for your words of wisdom. Very helpful!
Your post is one of many that demonstrate the beauty of having this open forum for us all to learn from, it is just so cool to think my d has such positive vibes heading her way, even though as I have said, she is blissfully unaware of the discussions here, she knew when deadlines passed and that thousands were deferred 12/22 but I have shared none of the stressful waiting stuff
After her accept letter arrives (!!!) I plan to share with her that so many thoughtful and wise people were rooting for her and offering advice! She will be surprised and pleased
As for the choice of where to attend, as you say she is fortunate and blessed to be reaping the benefit of choices earned by her hard work and focused application of her smart brain
She is 100% in the driver seat, she is mature, independent and responsible
The next steps are all hers, I am so happy to be back in the passenger seat for her journey, my natural position and where i belong
To your point exactly, I think now it’s Pitt vs psu, but Clemson has notified us that a scholarship is coming, so as u said who knows? Warm in SC ?,
It’s her choice I’m happy to support, now is the time to be open to all 8 fine universities that accepted her
Pitt, Ohio state, Clemson, Rutgers, Drexel, univ of SC and univ of Florida, and finally PSU!
I look forward to continuing to read and post here in cc, this year and upcoming as we take this journey together
Thanks again @bamamom2021 and good luck to your upcoming student too!!!
@amomoffour I am not going to get into it here, but your assertion is absolutely false. NO ONE was blocked for stating their opinion.
Furthermore, CC does not allow waiting posts on decision threads. For anyone. System wide. It wasn’t personal
Thank you all for your kind words! Much appreciated? helps make the blow a little easier- this has been quite the learning experience!
@ziveli513 If you guys are having the same snow day as the rest of SEPA, your D is hanging out at home. Rather than waiting for the mail, why don’t you say, “hey, check the portal while we are waiting.” Kids today don’t “get” the excitement of waiting for snail mail - it is all on their screen. Let her snap, post on IG, etc. If you are truly concerned about the housing situation, then today is a great day to have those conversations (assuming she is home). You will be able to tell where her heart is by her reaction. Is she uber-excited? Then maybe Penn State. Is she ‘meh’? Then maybe Pitt. And if it is Penn State, then accept the admission and housing and get your number in line.
and btw, congrats to her! I know it has been a long and painful journey.
And then have her change her PSUID password. For all the reasons that I’ve listed. It will be her educational journey and Penn State takes FERPA rights very seriously. There are stories of kids getting classes dropped and can’t get them back (by well-meaning parents) and Penn State locking access down because login to lionpath happened in two different georgraphical areas. Not trying to scare you, but I’ve heard the horror stories. Let her take the lead.
good luck making your decision.
@greatescape74 thank you!!! Yes DUS is appealing the way psu describes it. Open to many exciting possibilities. Chemistry and calculus is her love and her talent , so I’m guessing still science and math focused but being able to explore in those fields freshman year is a blessing
Learned here first on cc
@skibunny2 thank you!!!
Skibunny, snow day here in pa!!

So I’m hanging with my d, she is making bread and studying. Of course
She thinks I am upstairs reorganizing my closet, while I’m actually typing away here
My d has made it very very very clear that she wants the experience of getting envelopes in the mail
When an email came from a few of the colleges she was fortunate to get an offer from, she said it was so anticlimactic !
I have a great poker face
It would be so selfish of me to spoil this great news, so we will wait for snow covered snail mail lol
Congrats to EVERYONE who heard today. It’s about time!
@ziveli513 Congratulations to you and your daughter! It’s been a journey and happy that you received the desired results.
