Late as ever and I got absolutely nada, same “reviewing decision”.Called a while ago and they said I was good I just had to wait but man this is high key cheeks waiting like this.
Kind of off topic but I had placed my housing request in the 5th of March, is it less likely that I will get the dorm I requested this late? (I requested double in pollock with hopefully the discovery slo in beaver).

Okay @airway1 , does that delay my request for housing? I was just going to do it whenever I next see my doctor.
You need to get it in before registerstion starts… @lm3232 I took my son to our health center in Virginia so was free to fill in… some doctors charge as if it’s a doctor appointment…
So, after months of stressful waiting, a 2+2 offer, a request for reconsideration and 5 more weeks of stressful waiting, D19 finally got an update this weekend… an offer to start at UP in the fall.
We found out about the update just at Hofstra was rolling out the red carpet for her for their honors college, so at least now she has a feeling of closure and was able to decide on her own terms when she tells PSU that “WE ARE NOT!”
Good for your daughter @PSU2023dad. I’m guessing when you chose your user name you were more pro-penn state? Why is your daughter preferring Hofstra—my son is strongly considering going to Hofstra after receiving a 2+2 offer at PSU. Feel free to respond on the Hofstra thread if you prefer.
To be fair, PSU is much better than Hofstra academically and in terms of reach (ie., Hoftra’s reputation is relatively local v. PSU’s which covers most of the east coast+Ohio).
That being said, what matters most is what a student does while at college. Further, there’s no reason for an OOS student to attend a branch campus when they necessarily have equivalent or better in-state options at lower cost.
@Provincetown , the more we researched both schools and visited Hofstra multiple times, the more we saw the difference between the 2 schools. I’m sure PSU is great for many students, but it was apparent it wasn’t as good a fit as Hofstra.
• average class size 20 students to a teacher, so the professors get to know and work with the students
• professors do their own class and hours, no using a TA or being unavailable to help students
• we have heard many stories of PSU students being told by a teacher to “go read the textbook “ and advisor giving no help or bad advice.
•D19 was offered a spot in the honors college, which offers additional support and opportunities for the students. Also came with a substantial scholarship
• guaranteed 4 year housing (sounds minor, but this was a bonus for us)

Lol, yes when I picked the user name we were certain that she’d be going to PSU. I think like a lot of parents and students here, the fiasco of this year’s admission process was a blessing as it opened our eyes to looking further into alternatives

It’s annoying to see so many people still waiting and PEnn state still accepting applicants… shouldn’t they stop by now? Seems they have more then they need
