@ChineseInUSA Abington public schools are very good, as are many other suburban Philadelphia school districts. I would think that most suburban elementary schools would have excellent reputations, but you can do your own research. I wouldn’t recommend the Philadelphia city school district.

@ChineseInUSA , we lived in Abington for several years before moving to Central Pennsylvania. Abington is a wonderful little town. Small town feel yet all the amenities of the big city (Willow Grove Mall 5 minutes away along with several other shopping areas, including Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s), good restaurants, YMCA, train station to Philly, and even a small nature center. Also a quick train ride/drive into Philadelphia. I always felt very safe there, would often walk my dogs late at night. It’s a nice little community.
I think your looking for an English school for your mom… wouldn’t Penn state offer that?
See if Abington offers community education ESL or if PSU Abington does.
It’s gone all quiet here for both awaiting and accepted students… it will be interesting to see if they accept students in May
I meant a language school, a school that specifically offers English language classes for foreigners who do not master efficient English skills.
@ChineseInUSA the Abington school district is very good, as are basically all the suburban schools in this area. I would try to stay away from the Philadelphia public school system, though (I’m allowed to say that since my husband went to Philly public school lol). I’ll try to do some research re: ESL classes in the area.

@ChineseInUSA My stats were okay I guess. So I’m an international student, SAT: 1410, GPA: I do the IB Diploma so my school doesn’t really report GPA however my IB predicted grade was a 43/45.
Was at Accepted students so many haven’t decided… so impressed by how they can get you to say WE ARE! Especially getting the parents addicted to the creamery… amazing campus that’s all I can say… such a hidden gem and pleased our kid is going there

Just spoke to admissions and was told that total applications to UP 100k. All Schools are pretty much full
