2024 college football thread

Colorado just has no discipline. They could have 10 more points if they’d just stop the taunting and ruffing calls.

Only thing saving them is Texas Tech is even worse.

HOTTY TODDY!!! Woo Hoo Ole Miss! Let dem dawgs bark all the way home!!!

hand it to the buffs for getting the job done. being 2nd place in the big 12 is setting itself up for the conference championship

We have to pay the price with the Big Noon (10am here, parking lots open at 6) Kickoff on Fox next week. But every game this year on network TV. RIP Pac 12 network.

A few minutes after the game started today I got an email from Xcel Energy saying they were sorry for the power outage in my area, and then another that said it would be restored by 10 pm (8 hours later!) I never did lose power but assume some fans did.

I was really sad to lose the Longhorn Network with our move to the SEC this year, but I haven’t missed any vball or football so it’s worked out.

Oof. Painful to watch. Congrats!!

Did anybody see Kirk Herbstreit on GameDay talking about the death of his dog, Ben? He couldn’t speak so I was glad they had a packaged piece on him. I was bawling.

I was at the Tennessee - Mississippi State game last night. UT did not look like the kind of team that could beat Georgia, especially a motivated Georgia team that is p.o.'d from the Ole Miss loss, and will be playing for playoff survival from here on out. Tennessee’s run defense was horrible – the Vols gave up 179 yards, I think – and our no.1 running back, Dylan Sampson, fumbled twice – once in the red zone and once right outside of it (he sometimes has problems with holding onto the football). If Tennessee plays against Georgia the way that they played against State, it will be ugly for the Vols.

In the other college football, Texas wins the women’s soccer SEC championship in its first year in the conference in what was a GREAT game. Won Big 12 last year and SEC this year. Hook 'em!

Yes:(
I have loved following Kirk on IG the past year as Ben traveled around w/him. He captured a lot of hearts.

Ds and two Texas work colleagues are coming in for the Arkansas-Texas game this weekend. This is my centerpiece for our, “house divided.” Only one of the three attended UT, but you still root for your state’s team even if you aren’t an alum. Dh is an Arkansas alum and his dad played for the Razorbacks in the 1950’s.

I know Arkansas fans consider this game more of a rivalry than Texas fans do, but there is a lot of great history for this match-up.

WPS!! (My hopes are low, but my excitement is high)

Best of luck to the Hogs!

Was your father-in-law on a team with Jerry Jones?

Nice centerpiece! Hook 'em, Horns!

My dad still receives two comped season’s tickets to all home UT football games. I get very stressed watching Longhorn games, because I know how much they mean to him. I don’t call him after games they lose!

I disagree. Longtime fans know the history of the rivalry, dating to the Southwest Conference. I’ll never forget ol’ Strollin’ Nolan in that basketball game. I’m really looking forward to this game, because, while I think we should win, you just never know, man. Trap games are a thing!

It’s so funny, but I never considered that your name had to do with the Razorbacks. Cute little Longhorn in your centerpiece. :metal:t4:

Defense was amazing. Not a pretty win, but I’ll take it.

@Hoggirl hope your son and his friends had fun!
