2024 college football thread

And at altitude, 5360 feet. He missed two games this year because of an injury or his stats would be higher.

I only got to one game this year, but he was moving for all 4 hours. He was often double or triple teamed so that the other receivers were open. But also a nice kid. He has a 4.0, never misses class, is getting married in May and just likes to hunt and fish and hang out with his family.

I hope his pro career is wonderful too.

Yeah, how anyone can hate on him is beyond me.

Easily the best player in cfb for 2024. Easily.

I have no interest in any bowl games, except for the college football playoffs. Looking forward to tonight’s Indiana - Notre Dame game.

Indiana didn’t fare so well. Oh well.

Go SMU, Ohio State and Texas

SMU is not enjoying the cold here in Happy Valley

I know that we are only two games into this, but Indiana and SMU are stinking this up. I think conference winners get bids but no automatic byes. We need better seeding in this thing. We can’t expand and add games. Playoff teams already are up against the portal. Bummed that the SMU QB is playing so poorly.

I realize it’s the 1st year of this 12-team format, and changes will be made, but I’m thinking 8 teams would be plenty.

Indiana, SMU and Clemson just aren’t good enough.

And Bama would have been a better choice even with 3 losses.

I had the same comment to H – that 8 teams seem enough.

But in the meantime, Go Irish :four_leaf_clover:

I think Clemson is much better than Indiana or SMU.

I can’t quit thinking about that SMU QB. Stage was just too big for him. Never played in front of that many people. He’s from an inner-city Dallas school. I’ve been following him for a while.

Clemson game is still in process, let them finish first.

Texas is averaging almost 7 yards/carry just currently shy of 300 rushing yards total.

That says everything right there.

I’m torn. I don’t want Ohio State to win, but if they lose, then a loss likely increases the possibility that Ryan Day gets fired.

And “we” want Ryan Day to stay Ohio State. :grinning:

OK, this night game is more of the same. Ugh. C’mon other UT!

Cade Klubnik, graduate of @MaineLonghorn’s HS, is a really good QB. Now that Dabo is willing to use the portal, he’ll get the pieces around him to make the team better.

At this point, I’ve invested so much time, I just want an exciting game to watch.

I just volunteered to host a Peach Bowl watch party because all the kids are in town. My excitement took over my good sense!

Yeah, that darned Westlake kid!

those of you hoping the cfp will downsize to 8 are wishful thinkers. the bowls are in charge and will likely expand to 16 in order for the favorites to play at least 1 home game despite of these ridiculously non-competitive games this past weekend

The games could be more competitive if the seeding was better.

Yes, definitely a number of kinks need to be worked out. I was a fan of moving to an 8 team playoff (at least as the next step) but now they will never cut the number of games back – money talks.

Nice job BYU. Don’t have the star power but you’ve got the heart.
