I called the university yesterday, I’m pretty sure I talked to a student because the voice sounded young to me. I asked if they were doing acceptances by major or gpa and test scores. She told me no that they do it by dates of application, so those who applied first should hear first. I don’t really think that’s the case though because I saw someone who applied a week and a half after my daughter did and they had their decision a week later.
Also, for those accepted did you get an email to check your portal or did you just happen to login?
Same. Getting a bit nervous here too. It appears those getting accepted are sitting in the 1300-1500+ SAT range. I don’t recall seeing any 1200s. Still hoping.
i have a 1380 SAT 91 GPA applied last week of october for business. does anyone have an idea when i’ll hear back? been on “awaiting decision” for roughly two weeks.
@respacings i had the same SAT and applied the last week of October. I was also awaiting decision for about 2 weeks, but I was engineering. I think it depends on how fast the individual college (ie business, nursing or engineering) reviews applications, as most of the people who have been accepted seem to be STEM/science. Higher stats also seem to come out first, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t hear before Thanksgiving, a 1380 is solid!
Ours did not come with merit or financial aid notification. Reading through last year’s thread, we expect a separate notification 2-4 weeks after acceptance.
My dd received OOS acceptance this past Thursday. No merit nor financial aid received yet but read on their website will be 2 weeks after acceptance.
Her stats: GPA: 4.1/3.8
SAT: 1390
Major: University Studies
Applied Oct. 30
Applied for major of exercise science on 10/23 and my status has been awaiting decision for two weeks now! Very frustrated and hoping for a decision soon as it seems that other with this major have already begun to be accepted
I applied to the CEOE for Meteorology/Climatology on 10/15 and submitted everything on 10/17 and I’ve been on awaiting decision for a while now, too.
GPA: 4.17 on 4.33 scale
SAT: 1440
Applied Mid October, accepted Nov 14.
Out of state, gpa 3.95, SAT 1380, Education major. Daughter is excited, one of her top choices, waiting on 4 other EA applications submitted, not bothering with any more regular applications because she’d pick Delaware over any of them.
Don’t be fooled. People on this forum tend to have children that are way above the typical UDel profile. Also, don’t believe everything everyone says about their kids
@nglaw1836 good point and also folks need to keep in mind that with UDEL having rolling admission, the kids getting in right now are the high stat no brainers for the admissions office.
@candy-o and @college20124 The average SAT for last year first year students enrolled admissions was 3.71 and average SAT 1277 and average ACT was 27. There will be lots of kids accepted in the 1200’s range. You just will have to wait a bit longer for the acceptance. Good luck.
