@pjg310 did you interview for the World Scholars program already? My daughter has the option to but Iām not sure if sheās going to or not.
@Bech05 I did not. You have to be invited to interview first, then you can schedule it. Iām in contact with some alumni and what they thought, I can tell you more when they get back to me if you would like!
@pjg310 thank you, that would be great. I think sheās going to schedule her Skype interview (weāre in PA so she wonāt be doing an in person interview) for one day this week. I have some questions too so I may send an email to find some things out.

Iām curious and going to call today - 13 weeks since applying and my son has the same or slightly higher stats than some already accepted, and excellent EC with lots of leadership, and some in his school (business). What am I missing? I will post if I am able to get to speak with someone today.
@Momtofourkids My daughter is in the same boat. Thank you, hope the office is open today.
I called and spoke to a young woman there. She said it is rolling admissions but it doesnāt necessarily mean first in first told.
She said most likely in my sons case because he is an accounting major for the business school itās a more competitive school so they are taking higher stats and waiting to see who they get versus another major which has a lower threshold for SAT/GPA.
So itās just a waiting game. I havenāt seen any accounting majors post yet so if there are any out there who have heard please let CC know!
Happy Thanksgiving
Momtofourkids, thatās exactly what I was going to say, a lot of it is going to be major dependent. My daughter, who wants to be an elementary school teacher, is a super strong candidate for education - strong test scores, great writing skills, tons of volunteer extracurriculars that are mostly child involved - so her application in front of the education dept looks great. For engineering or accounting or any of the sciences? Not so much. Hang tight and have faith!
My daughter was accepted on Friday 11/22/19 at 5:00 p.m. as an accounting major. She submitted her application 9/7/19 and all her documents were in by 10/9/19.
3.92 W GPA
1240 SAT
Over 400 hours of community service, NHS, Spanish Honor Society, 3 years on the board of a community service organization
Out of state: NJ
Application never changed from waiting for decision but portal was updated on 15th, 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st (but not on the 22nd).
Taking 5 dual credit honors courses senior year.
@Claudelee Interesting to hear. My son has similar stats with a 1280 SAT and a 4.1W and we are from Massachusetts. So he is right in line with your daughter. He has similar hundreds of hours of volunteer he is the crew chief and leader for his high schools EMT program, a mentor in the business department as well as lacrosse captain⦠So I am hoping if they admitted your daughter he will hear soon! Congratulations to her!!!
@momtofourkids Thank you! You should be fine. When we went to the open house in November the admissions representative said that the average SAT at the business school was between 1250 and 1300 so you should be fine.
This may not be relevant, but I think the reason the OOS NJ person (ClaudeLee) heard back and not Momtofourkids from MA is that the admissions counselor for MA is not the same person as NJ and is working at different pace or schedule.
Not sure if this is how it works, but logically it makes sense.
My son heard back from UDEL on Friday as well, also from OOS NJ.
Rachael Zylberman is the admissions counselor for MA, RI, NH, VT, ME and parts of CT.
Matt Hermaneu is for South Central & Eastern Seaboard NJ (Monmouth, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex).
OOS D accepted to Mech Eng on 11/22. Took 8 wks from app completion.
1370 SAT (720 M/650V)
3.57 UW/4.04 Weighted
NHS, good EC, 3 year varsity track.
4 AP, mostly honors
Debating whether to apply for Honorsā¦value in it for Engineers?
