IMO if the grades help, send them (if the school wants them) .
Colorado College is now closed for both Fall and gap semester/year options
Admissions says (in an email response to a question about state of waitlist) that UTK is not currently going to waitlist given the number of acceptances.
has anyone heard ab MIT WL movement?
Added Yale (5/11), Emory (5/8) and UMich Ross in-state (5/12), all reported by counselors
Guys, is it true that Columbia university started getting/accepting their students off the waitlist?
Yes
Someone I know got an email from Tufts saying that the class is full. They are not closing the waitlist yet, but maybe in a few weeks.
How about Georgetown?
Aside from Georgetown going to waitlist starting on 5/2, havenāt heard anything else regarding where enrollment for class of 2029 stands.
Son received email just now that he will be offered a spot off the Brandeis waitlist tomorrow.
thank you!
Son got off the UVA waitlist (told him to check his portal āone more timeā even though he said he had not received any email - it went to his junk mail!) and there was an offer from 5/8!! So happy for him bc he applied ED and was deferred to RD and then waitlisted during the RD round
Congrats to you son! how long was the offer good for?
What major?
Do waitlist offers usually equal number of spots available or is it similar to earlier rounds when they send more expecting some students to turn down offer.
This is school specific. Plus the later the offer, the less likely they are to yield the student (generally.)
Agree that it is school specific. If they absolutely cannot go over their target and/or are dealing with a limited number of openingd, they often match offers to openings BUT give offers that have a very short response time so that they csn move on quickly if an offer is declined.
Often too, as they move into summer (when fewer students are likely to accept WL offers), they MAY confirm interest in staying on a dummer or extended WL.
Iām specifically wondering about U Mich as a ton of offers went out this week.
Not sure how UMich runs the waitlist (plus itās new this year with Ross being direct admit only.) I would guess they made some more offers than they have spots by estimating a typical waitlist yield they might have experienced from past offers in May.
It really depends on how many spots they need to fill. For example, I would guess they have more LSA spots available than Ross spotsā¦so maybe Ross offers were one for one. But again thatās all speculation.
Any insights here? @sushiritto @knowstuff
