Is the Cornell waitlist closed?? CALS specifically?
Friend just got a call from Wake! It’s moving again…
Are most schools giving kids a week to decide? that seems like a long time.
Time to respond seems to vary widely by college. Schools doing a big wave allow a longer response time. Schools getting close to their target number might admit in small batches with a very short response time.
Hamilton is making offers off the waitlist. I think they started last week or the week before. My child got the call today.
Would be helpful to read whether or not the students receiving offers are full pay or not.
My friend who received an offer from Wake yesterday is full pay.
My child is not full pay but did not get as much in aid at her waitlist acceptance school as she did from her regular decision offers.
My son is not full pay. He received very generous offers off the WL from Syracuse (Maxwell, 55K per year) and Brandeis (full tuition). Both exceeded the NPCs. His offer from Emerson was less generous, but aligned with their NPC.
You mentioned elsewhere he had four waitlist offers. What was the fourth? And his final choice is..?
The fourth was Marist. It was a phone call, and he declined on the spot, so we never received an aid package. He has decided to stick with where he had already committed - Connecticut College. They were incredibly generous with aid (merit and FA), and it’s overall the best fit for him.
came off the UW (washington) waitlist today. Given 10 days to confirm.
Congrats! What major?
WAKE FOREST ADMISSIONS BLOG POSTED AN UPDATE:
June 2, 2025
June 1 is the first of our reply dates, and it exists as the initial “threshold” in our waitlist process. Applicants who indicated June 1 as their response day – the last date they wanted to be considered for admission – should have received an email from us earlier today.
If an applicant who selected June 1 as their response date would like to be considered for admission further into the summer, they should write to admissions@wfu.edu, simply requesting to change that date. Otherwise, we wish them every success in the next step in their academic journey.
And a brief note to those applicants who selected later response days (July 1 or August 1): please know that we are continually monitoring our first-year enrollment and will make offers of admission as seats become available. Keep an eye on this blog for any updates.
So… that pretty clearly states that someone will have to remove themself from the incoming class in order for someone else to get off the waitlist, right? (What would those circumstances be? Just someone moving off another waitlist further up the line, presumably?)
Yes, getting off a WL at a preferred school is one reason. Health issues that require a deferral is another. Possibly change in financial circumstances Not being able to obtain a visa.
Various things can happen in the summer, like not meeting the admission conditions (e.g. final transcript shows a D or F in a previously reported in-progress course), financial problems, medical problems, international student visa problems, etc. Or the matriculant or their parents change their mind for some other reason.
Yes, our daughter as well. Econ major.
Any updates from Princeton?
Dean J, the person who answered the phone in the admissions office confirmed that UVA has been giving waitlist offers through the portal, which confirms what we’re hearing online and what I heard directly from a student who was admitted a few days ago. I don’t see a waitlist update from UVA on the blog, website or socials since the Kinesiology update on May 2nd. Can you shed light on the existing waitlist movement (such as which schools have gone to their waitlist) and should students just assume that UVA is making waitlist offers on a rolling basis until we hear the class officially is closed?
My daughter’s friend got off of uva waitlist last week - engineering. OOS female
