3+2 programs: is anyone actually doing them?

It is incredibly rude to the OP for a user to turn the thread into an off topic discussion and to the moderators to continue to ignore instructions. She didn’t ask where your kids went to school (particularly if not 3+2). She didn’t ask about how often your kids come visit you. She didn’t ask how the weather/food/forms are. She didn’t ask what starting salaries are. So please stick to the questions asked

In the J1 section of the Common Data Set, pertaining to “Degrees Conferred” there’s a line for engineering. I know of at least one LAC without an engineering department that nevertheless lists “CIP Totals” in the mid-teens even though there are no diplomas or certificates listed in the preceding columns. Might that be a stand-in for 3+2 and or 2+1+1+1 programs?
