3 Upper Division Math Classes Too Much?

Hello, I’m sure you guys see similar questions to this all the time, but I need some advice. For any math majors/graduate I’m wondering if this schedule is going to be too much in the spring:

MAT371 - Advanced Calc 1
MAT444 - Intermediate Abstract Algebra, I could also take 440 - Group Theory, which I’ve been told is a lighter introduction to this class’s topics
MAT416 - Introduction to Graph Theory

STP420 - Introduction to Statistics
CSE310 - Data Structures and Algorithms, if I can get permission to take it
undecided - probably some humanities class for the science and society credit requirement

I should also say that I need to take 18 credits this semester, so it looks like its gonna be 6 classes. I don’t know if this helps, but I am currently taking MAT300 - Mathematical Structures, MAT342 - Linear Algebra, CSE120 - Digital Design Fundamentals and CSE240 - Introduction to Programming Languages and I’m not having any problems keeping up with them. I only have 12 credits this semester though, I didn’t realize that I needed 30 each year to keep my transfer scholarship and I wanted to take it easy my first semester at a University.

Side question: For anyone who’s had the transfer achievement scholarship at ASU, could I take a class over the summer to make up that 3 credits? Then I could easily cut this schedule down by 1 class.

Yes you can take a summer class to get up to the 30 hours, but it needs to be an ASU class. Something like a community college class won’t count towards the 30 hours, even if it transfers. Most scholarships won’t pay for the summer class, so you will pay. Are you in state or pay out of state rates? Could be $2000 for one course at out of state.

You can see here that summer classes at ASU are fine for the transfer schoalrship: <a href=“Scholarship renewal guide | Tuition | ASU”>https://students.asu.edu/scholarships/renewal

If you are very good in math you can skip MAT371 and start with MAT472 real analysis in the fall. Take a CLAS science and society or something instead. STP420 is available as online class in case that helps you. If you take a heavy load, having one or 2 classes online can make it easier. GPH381 is a pretty straightforward science&society available online. No essays.
