I click on an interesting looking story on AOL or Yahoo, and I’m forced to watch 30 seconds of malarkey before I can get to my little tiny minute of something that might interest me. I spend most of my time clicking out of things these days, because I can’t stand to watch the commercials. Don’t we have any say over this??</p>

<p>OK - I know everyone hates commercials. But content is expensive to produce. Websites are expensive to run and host. Commercials help pay for all of these things. If it was all free - there wouldn’t be much to see, because no one would have they money to produce it, host it or air it.</p>

<p>I HATE when I click on a story and have to watch a video to see what happened. I like to read text. Lately even stories in text are accompanied by a video and I have to wait for it to load before I can even read the text. I often give up.</p>

<p>What drives me nuts is when the commercials are 30 seconds long or whatever so you’re stuck letting it play out, but then the video that you actually don’t want to see won’t even play correctly!</p>
<p>If you’re using google chrome then get AdBlock. Firefox has something similar too. I haven’t watched commercials since I got it.</p>
<p>HKLincoln, you’re a genius. I loaded Adblock and I haven’t had to watch a single commercial since then. It also seems to have blocked a lot of “print” ads on some sites I visit routinely. Thanks very much for the tip.</p>
