5'9''---too short for a male?

And whats the average hight in US?

[Human height - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href=“Human height - Wikipedia”>Human height - Wikipedia)

The average is around 5’10" for men.

hey i am also 5’9. I am a junior male. Weird thing was when i was 12 i was 5’6.

Some kids mature early; some kids mature late. (I’m talking physical maturation only.) My younger son was also 5’ 6" at age 12. At age 23, guess what – he’s still 5’ 6".

Oh well. As I tell him, at least your legs are long enough so that your feet reach the ground. ;)

‘Too short’ in what sense?

If you want to play pro basketball, most probably yes. If you’re wondering about how girls will react – don’t. Or at least, try not to.

Truth is that you might get passed over for your taller friends and classmates for a while – yes, girls can be superficial, just like boys – but this is just as likely not to happen. I have known lots of very popular men shorter than you. And within a few years the women you meet (well, the ones you’d want to be meeting) will be looking for much more than a particular height in their partner, just as the young men your age (or at least some of them, the more intelligent ones) will develop a taste in women that isn’t linked to the size of their breasts and propensity to wear revealing clothing.

I suggest that you work on improving the things that you have control over rather than worrying over that which is never going to change. It’ll pay off :)

I’m too short >< 5’7’'

I think it’s great when a guy shorter than I has no qualms about me in heels towering over him. Shows he has enough confidence not to give a @#$% about height.

In the U.S., the average height for males is around 5’9’’ or so. If you’re within a couple inches of that, you’re fine.

6’9" big behbeh.

^ lol, behbeh! xD

5’11" right here. HS Sophomore…

I agree with you. My daughter is tall and had no problem dating a boy shorter than her. He made it a problem though. So ridiculous - it’s not as if she was going to shrink after he asked her out. After 2 years of wearing flats and slouching she is free and back wearing heals when she wants to and walking tall. So just embrace whatever height you are - if someone has a problem with it - *they *are the problem and not worth your time.

My son was 5’2" in 7th grade - 5’9’ by the end of 8th. Is a little over 6’ now.

My boyfriend is 5’9 and I think he’s a great height

[moral: 5’9 is not too short to get girls, unless you absolutely must have a tall girl]

I think 5’9" is a good height for guys. If they are any taller than that then I just look too short.

I’m a junior male, and I’m 5’5" and 105 lbs. I think you’re doing just fine.

I’ve always been really short for my age, so at this point it doesn’t really bother me, except at work when I can’t reach things on the top shelf without standing on a box. But life is too short to worry about things one can’t change.

Even Daniel Craig is 5’9" :p

I dont think it matters :)

Johnny Depp is only 5’8"

average height for white males in the US = 5’10.2" if I recall correctly. Basically 5’10".

It’s too short for a lot of girls; especially taller one’s, as height for some girls is just a deal breaker. But it’s only really a huge deal if you’re insecure about it, most of the time.

My dad’s 5’8"ish, so NO.
