<p>What were your favorite essays to write?</p>
<p>All my apps are finally done! My favorite essay was the first supplemental essay. I wrote on the prompt about carving a block of stone with a hammer and a chisel.</p>

<p>I recycled two of my essays, but significantly altered them to fit Kenyon (it’s the last college that I applied to). The only new essay I wrote was the “partnership” essay, which was kinda cliche, but I didn’t know what else to say!</p>
<p>My favorite one is definitely the first one about what trait I wanted to further explore. I love Kenyon even more after the whole application process, even though I procrastinated all the way until the end.</p>
<p>I submitted mine at about 8:50, it was the last college app I’ll ever have to do, so I relished in pushing that stupid submit button.</p>
<p>Favorite essay was the one talking about the “edges of the map”. At first, I thought it was one of the worst prompts in the world, but learned to love after time.</p>
<p><em>boogies</em> I was done ages ago because I applied before December 15 for the merit scholarship stuff. Yay! I wrote the map essay too. Kenyon definitely had some good prompts there…</p>
<p>I applied by Dec. 15 too for scholarships but I actually hated a lot of the essay prompts. I ended up doing the one about which trait I would want to understand better basically because the others didn’t really click with me. I’m nowhere near an artist so asking me about what I would carve is not a good idea. And when I say not an artist I mean NOT an artist. People have commented on my various art projects looking like “roadkill” or “fried chicken” when it was supossed to be a horse. <em>sigh</em> And I had no idea what they ment by the whats at the edge of your map question. I kind oflooked at it and went “Huh?” for a while and then decided to take the safer route. 
Funny things is, I really like Kenyon, so hopefully they’ll get that even though my essays may be a little iffy.</p>
<p>I didn’t get to recycle any of my essays for colleges so I think I ended up writing ~20? Yea…that was rough. I’m just so glad it’s over!!! Freedom finally!!</p>
<p>December fifteenth also! And I, too, did the trait essay, not so sure how it turned out, haha. My artist friend did the carving one, I’m also awful at art so I decided not to go that route…</p>
<p>But I’m assuming all of us are done, so yay! Now we wait…</p>
<p>I was going to submit by the 15th, but then I had another one to finish for scholarship at Bucknell, and I had so little time to finish all the essays… I decided that rushing them would be crap, and I’d rather just have a decent chance of getting in… :(</p>
<p>But I’m glad I did, I had so much fun writing the essays. I did the human trait one too! About imagination, and creating things in our minds… weird, but I liked it. :)</p>
<p>Lol, my partnership essay was about this one time when I was little that me and a group of friends broke into the basement of the neighboring church, just because we thought the church should be open for people to pray.</p>
<p>You wrote about criminal behavior…perhaps you should have thought that one through a bit more :-P</p>
<p>I am no artist either. But I am an aspiring writer, and used the essay kind of like a short story, in which I assumed that I am carving something that is very important to. I focused more on the thing that I was carving than the process of carving itself. It was fun! And I am happy that not many people did the prompt. :D</p>

My partnership essay was kinda like your one…It was about visiting a temple at night…However, we didn’t break into it. :)</p>

<p>For my partnership essay I wrote about changing the wet bedsheets of a distraught eight-year-old camper with my co-counselor this past summer. I got in ED, sooooo it seems that your essays can be kind of out there

<p>Yes. I finished too, and it was a relief. I’m not done with all my other apps though. Six to go, maybe?</p>
<p>Anyway, I actually didn’t like their essays. I felt Kenyon was trying too hard to be creative in their supplements. I’d feel much freer with a broader prompt. There was too much abstract vague ideas than actual story-telling.</p>
<p>Perhaps you should have used the main essay as your canvas then :-P</p>
<p>I totally did, though. I just had too much paint… and too small a canvas.</p>
