A Class I Like Or?

I’m at a bit of a dilemma. I’ve signed up for my classes next year, but I’m indecisive for one. My school has seven periods a day. This is what my planned schedule for my Junior year looks like.

  1. AP US History
  2. AP Language and Composition
  3. Pre-AP Algebra II
  4. AP Psychology
  5. Anatomy & Physiology
  6. Chemistry
  7. Either Floriculture OR Spanish III
I really enjoy ag classes, but I may need a third year of a foreign language. My school recommends two years of a foreign language for college admission, but everyone here says most colleges want at least three. I do really like ag classes like I said; however, my school has something where you can earn cords and it’s called College, Career, Citizenship Readiness. The Citizenship and College readiness doesn’t affect/isn’t affected by the classes I take, but Career is. I’ve already taken and passed a KOSSA test for animal systems so I’m “Career Ready.” That isn’t a concern to me now, so I could drop the ag class and go for Spanish III. Any advice?

I think you should go for Spanish because colleges like to see at least 3 years of a language. In my school, the requirement is 3 years minimum, so for a competitive school, 3 years is better. If you could, you could try and take Spanish online over the summer if that’s possible. Then you could still take the ag class.

You should definitely have at least three years of a foreign language, so Spanish.

Thanks everyone. I’ll probably switch to Spanish III. It’s just confusing since my counselor said Spanish III wouldn’t be needed if going to college. I thought is sounded fishy.
