I had a rough freshman and sophomore year grade wise because of a lack of motivation (ended sophomore year within the 2.0-2.5 overall gpa range). For junior year, I am challenging myself by taking AICE and honors courses. I should be getting three As, three Bs, and one C for this first semester (does that look bad to admission boards?). I am determined and expect myself to make straight As throughout the rest of high school starting second semester of this school year. Next school year will include more AICE courses but also about 2 or 3 AP courses. I am working on redoing any classes for grade forgiveness from my first two years of high school. I have been putting significant effort into my schoolwork lately.
So basically, my questions are:
- Will my overall GPA and ACT/SAT test scores matter more to universities such as FSU and UF rather than what letter grades I had on my high school transcript?
- Would I get rejected because of my freshman and sophomore year grades/GPA regardless of how I did junior and senior year?
- Are the courses that I’ve listed rigorous enough to get myself admitted into a state university if I were to make mostly As (or a few Bs) in them?
