a funny observation

at my school, there are a few people who try to project the “I don’t care about prestige” mentality. They are generally interested in social justice, saving the world… and mock the rest of us for going for the name-brand school.

But it is really funny to see that when they make their college decision, they invariably pass up their “dream LAC” school with merit aid for whatever out-of-state school they got into rated higher on USN&WR.

Anyone else have these kind of experiences?

*please do not post that your friend’s brother’s dog sitter turned down Harvard for some no-name school.
