A Gift (Basket) To You From You

So many of the current threads are heavy, I need something to entertain me and the answer needs to not be the CC Political Forum. :grimacing:

This topic thought of while listening to a podcast today on a walk. Apologies to Food News podcast listeners, I’m way behind and this was a holiday feature/promotion.

Design your own themed gift basket you’d love for someone to get you. Based hopefully on your likes/desires/needs.

Here’s the rules:

  • gift basket cannot be a basket full of gift cards. There can be one among other items and you have to share where you want the gift card to be to.
  • gift basket total worth, $200 limit. Does not include the cost of the basket/container unless that is part of the gift.
  • if desired you can choose the store you want all the items to come from. Maybe you love William Sonoma and insist all items come from there. This is optional.

These were the examples on the podcast. I don’t know what their budget was
Gift basket #1 : Soup Theme
Dutch oven, ramen spoons, soup bowls, actual soup, marble spoon rest

Gift basket #2 ā€œChoppedā€ Theme
Small food processor, OXO veggie chopper, knife (can’t remember what else!)

Ok have at it. If you don’t love receiving gifts (:raising_hand_woman:t2:) this is your chance to build your own

I’ll do mine later!

I’m not sure what you mean but if I were to send myself a gift basket, it would be one of these two things or places

Good Prosciutto is not something that I can get here where I live.

I’d be ordering from Zabars or Barney Greengrass! Lox, whitefish, bagels, and cream cheese.

I’ve purchased this gift basket twice at a yearly charity auction.

But, if I wasn’t so impulsive, and really cared about my health, I’d look for a fruit basket or a basket filled with different teas. I have a cup of tea every afternoon.

Zingermans having their spring sale right now. Great time to create a charcuterie board (or two).

Ive been actually meaning to order from them this week.

No, no I meant more names the items YOU would put in a gift basket for YOU. Someone is building a themed basket for you (not purchasing a ready made one) - for you to love it, what should they put in it and theme it???

For instance maybe I want a bread baker basket ( I am a sourdough girl). I’d love a basket with a LeCruset bread oven dupe (can’t get the real thing for under $200), a danish dough whisk, some great jam and cheese for spreading and a King Arthur gift card.

I love the idea of this thread, but I’m going to have to think hard about what I’d like in mine!

Chapstick and blistex will definitely be required as little fillers.

Yeah, sorry if I wasn’t clear enough. I get lots of brain work from my podcasts. :joy:

Ahhh, sorry for the mistake. I’m currently doing a no-buy so it’s hard for me to answer what I’d want in a gift basket.

I’d want a beach basket. A cheap beach tote filled with a beach towel, a pair of Oofos, a tube of sunscreen, a water bottle, a paperback, and something to munch on, like dried pineapple.

@BunsenBurner beach basket inspired me. I’d want a travel basket. So blistex/chapstick! But also cheap murder mystery/suspense paperback books, snacks, Diet Coke!, maybe some tickets to attractions wherever we are going, adapters if going to a foreign country, can never have enough portable chargers!

I’d never spend $200 on myself, so I’m out.

Up to $200 - it can be $20! And you’re not buying it - ITS A GIFT.

I would like an outdoor entertainment basket from William Sonoma with a pretty Italian inspired melamine platter and serving bowls, outdoor linens, and a fun solar power lantern.

Great idea ! This is soon to be a gift idea thread for CC’ers to buy others! Lol

I’d like a wine gift basket of savignon blancs and Pinot Gris/grigios and some similar wines, and maybe some little snacks foods to go with the wine. Total Wine would be a fine place for the wine, but snacks could come from elsewhere.

I’d like a nice basket filled with minions who come to do the cleaning and snow shoveling and all that other home care stuff!

Failing that, those culture-themed snack baskets look like a fun way to explore new tastes.

My sister and I do this exact gift basket for our aunt’s birthday each year. We get a variety of 4 packs of single serving white wines/bubbly and some sweet and salty snacks. It’s so very much appreciated.

New release thriller paperback, wine, wide brim straw hat, and a tube of splurge sunscreen I never buy!
