A great article for the New Year

Here’s a very interesting article I wanted to share w/ y’all from the New York Times. It was written by Professor Wilson in the Psychology department. I know I tend to ruminate over issues, so this was eye-opening.

Commentary: DON’T THINK TWICE, IT’S ALL RIGHT
By Timothy D. Wilson for The New York Times
It’s navel gazing time again, that stretch of the year when many of us turn our attention inward and think about how we can improve the way we live our lives. But as we embark on this annual ritual of introspection, we would do well to ask ourselves a simple question: Does it really do any good?

Thank you Globalist. The message seems to be to trust your gut and resist over analyzing a situation. That does seem counter to the spirit of many threads on CC, where careful weighing of the pros and cons appears to be the norm. I know I have learned a ton by reading these posts, so my gut tells me rumination can still be a good thing.
