A Meta-thread to save us all time

For the sake of the Pathway (the right one), for the sake of any ninja adcoms who want to know if dedication to goals runs in the Welsch family (it does, to excess), for the sake of all of you who have worked together with me here (I’m leading, and cooperating too!), I present Post 501.

You win, GreyDad (accepts setbacks with resilience!).

Flame resistent sheets - in X-Long, marketed to overly worried parents of college bound freshman. Burning beds indeed! I just found the hook, the funding, the PATHWAY for S#2!! I’m sure this idea would have come to him any day now. We, er HE has 18 months to get this together - “killer” essay topic!

Now I get it; it’s all about the thread count!!

Actually Harriet, I’m willing to give it to you. I’m just a newbie and it’s only my skimpy verbiage that got me the crown. Because you put much more wit and wisdom in your post you just took a few more seconds and so I hand the Crown of 500 over to it’s rightful owner. I just wouldn’t feel right stealing such an honor from you.

(accesses a newfound humility, crediting this thread of wisdom to my Spiritual growth)

Harriet gets Miss Congeniality.

Yeesh, now it’s the wee hours of magical May 1st. Is everybody awake deciding things?

Okay, but which has more prestige? An Ivy or Hogwarts? And which has better recruiting, um for everything and anything? Because that’s important. Not that I care about prestige or money. I want the best education I can get. And who has more binge drinking? Because that’s good right?

No, but I’m serious about the prestige. Because I don’t want to waste my money on a school that’s not worth it, even if it does have good binge drinking.

And which is better? An Ivy or Hogwarts or a business academy. Because although I do want prestige, I don’t want to waste my money.

Then get involved in research! An independent study of mating habits of warthogs should give any applicant a huge advantage at Hogwarts. Especially if it gets published in a peep review paper.

Re Ivy v Hogwarts v Business Academy: My friend’s’ bus’iness partners’ daughter solved that one. She took freshman year at Hogwarts for her general education requirements in cozy little classes without TA’s, because she’d heard negatives about the TA’s over at T.I.T.S.

She transferred in as a sophomore to the Ivy, losing all financial aid, but it turned out great anyway, because she finished up at the business academy. She even got a job after college, which is really awesome.

Ok thanks. Anyone else? I mean, c’mon guys. I gotta go to college.

Please, it is May 1st. I have to decide between Princeton and Suffolk County Community Honors College. (don’t mean to offend any actual students or faculty of this U. ;))

The former will cost my parents $55,247 with all the extras, whereas I have a full ride at the latter.

Since they do have the Honors College, which allows early registration for classes, the dorm with the ping-pong table and comes with a single bed WITH the xl-long twin fitted sheets, should I save my parents’ $$ for grad school, or at least the final two years of my education?

You can get as good an education at the SCCC Honors College as at Princeton, right?

Does anyone know anything about the eating clubs at SCCC?

Also, is it OK if I just postmark my decision today, May 1st, or should I have run to the post office last night?

Will they both rescind?

That’s funny, I have the same dilemma! Except I have a full ride at Princeton and have to pay for SCCC. Which should I choose?

Why does this forum require me to wait 30 seconds between searches? Why does it care?

Too funny ladies. I actually teach adjunct courses at SCCC! And they have me, so yes, I would say, it’s equal to the Princeton education. Definitely. And worth the extra $55,000. Every penny.

Oh, and sometimes my forum says, “You must wait 30 seconds” but says, “post again in 47 seconds,” or some such. I think someone didn’t do his homework. Yes, the acceptance at SCCC will be rescinded!

Fellow threadites – go back and real the “real” college choice threads. They’re as funny as this one! I swear! I have new eyes.

Actually, they read exactly the same!

See G-gurl is being a grade grubber and doesn’t want to play nice with others. And she’s talking about killing people. She didn’t mention nothing about having a mental disorder in her application so I think you should rescind her offer of admission cause she misrepresented hur self.

This attitude will never get you into UTas or T.I.T.S. because they are looking for the next world leaders not world dominators.

to quote:
[ quote] repeat what someone has said [ /quote]

don’t forget to to close the spaces in between the brackets.

See… Mr/Ms Adcom,

I’m playing well with all the other kids this week. Can I pleeeeeasee get off the waitlist? Can I huh?

But . . . but . . . Miss Congeniality is such an also-ran. I’m not sure whether I should include this on my resume now. What do you think?

What is this deadline you all keep talking about? Did I miss something? Am I going to have to have daddy send one of the help down to the main post office at midnight again? Last time daddy said “this is the last time,” but you know how he is.

But getting back to my stellar children. This morning S2 has no school, so he’s decided to work on S1’s college apps. Isn’t that sweet? He was just asking me how to calculate GPA on a 4-point scale.

You don’t think he’ll sabotage anything, do you? Just because he’s begun to realize that when S2 goes away, no one will play Super Mario Galaxy with him?

mythmom, I think something about your mini-profile has changed, but I’m just not sure what it is. ;)

Hey mythmom, I was trying not to give away too much info! You know, you should be very careful about what personal info you post on this forum. There are adcoms sitting, bleary-eyed, reading this drivel, 24/7.

Every morning I get up and check, with great trepidation, what you all have done to my poor little thread during the night. And, and… well, I just can’t take it anymore. There’s no order, no organization, you all have clearly wandered off the right path.

I don’t even know which one that is anymore!

Maybe I can write an essay about that. And I think that “generalized confusion and despair” could be a reason for accomodations? Don’t you think?
Maybe you tell my boss I need the day off?

Thanks.

I have to quit my job because it got in the way of my lurking on this thread - two days and twenty pages to read! Will someone just tell me which PATHWAY to take for DD?

“Dear Garland’s Boss:
Please give Gar the day off today, and if you would kindly consider tomorrow as well, we would greatly appreciate your sacrifice. Garland has simply ruined my daily work (and sleeping hours) with this stupid thread. I suggest Gar put in for some (company paid) time management coursework. At the least, Gar should definitely have a psych eval since there are some clear passive/aggressive tendencies (see Thread).
Thank you for your (saved) time,
CC Posters.”

There Garland, now you may have a long weekend.
