A Meta-thread to save us all time

gc: take the pathway I tell you to use.

Thanks fencersmother. Anyone else?
(FYI- I’m catching up and am at p. 20 - my stomach hurts from laughing out loud - violadad thanks!)

FM–um, thanks.

Actually, I teach time management workshops, for real.

Scary, isn’t it?

Starts stampede to sign up for garland’s time-management course

This is fencingkid, and I am stealing this sn from that fat old woman:

MY PARENTS ARE SCREWING ME OVER!

Yes, so, lyke, I, lyke, just need a little over $400,000 to compleat my ivie legue edicazhun and THEY WON’T GIVE IT IT TO MEE.

Isn’t thare some law or someone I can talk to to to change their minds? I mean, lyke, we have a house, and they are so cheap they drive 10 year old cars (its so embarrASSing when they tke me to school or even if they let me drive them). Lyke, saweettt, my bf got a new car for graduation and his parents don’t even lyke care cuz he got into PENN STATE and is going to be on the dart team. But now they are mad at hime cuz he got his gf pregs - and what doc do you see if you think you have VD? I mean, if, lyke, he has VD.???

Can someone help me choose EMERGENCY between stinking Local Christian U which my parents think they’ll pay for or WVU which has great bars puls (sic) they burn furniture when they win the football game?

ITS AN EMERGENCY AND I HAVE TO DECIDE T O D A Y. PLZ HEL)P!

violadad’s D’s success in admissions would point to the “sects, druids and rock and roll” path.

(extra credit for correct use of apostrophes, please)

Ok, here’s what I need to know. And yes, I realize I should not have waited until May 1st. Is my D going to get pregnant freshman year if she chooses a school that has co-ed bathrooms? Is there any way she can maintain her virtue if her college provides free condoms to the students? I have a good amount of faith in the solid abstinence based curriculum her middle-school health classes used, but I worry that her college may try to undermine all of that good education. I’ve heard there’s a lot of immoral behavior in colleges, especially in the northeast.

Fencingkid here:

nceph everyone experiments with stuff in colleg. Lyke, so what about that sex thing. Everyone does it. And besides, lyke, so what if she is doing her dorm? And you have no right to know anyway and I don’t care if you are paying for any of her stuff.

nceph- just tell her to put paper down before she goes and she should be fine.

If fencingkid is right, I think maybe I should contact the dean of students and see what he thinks I should do. I’m also thinking perhaps I should make some little brochures explaining my D’s beliefs and her commitment to virtue and distribute the brochures to the other students on her hallway when we move her in. And then maybe I’ll follow up with the RA in a week or so after that.

Dang people - this thread is amazing. Muchas gracias.

pizzagirl: Since Princeton gives only need-based aid, I am assuming that you got your full-ride because you are from a low income family. So why isn’t SCCC offering you any aid? Something definitely sounds fishy here. You should contact them and make sure that they have all of your correct financial information.

Thumper-
Re: post# 456. The cost of the jet for T.I.T.S goes under the Asset Allocation Section of the FA form. So Go to the T.I.T.S form and look for the A.S.S. section.

and VD-
as for

you are such a tease.

“Is my D going to get pregnant freshman year if she chooses a school that has co-ed bathrooms?”

Yes. HTH.
But if she chooses a good school (by which I mean top 20; everything else is one step above cosmetology school), the good news is that the prospective father will be either an future i-banker, a future doctor, or a future engineer.

(I have heard that there are other professions besides these three that top 20 students go into, but it’s just a vicious rumor as far as I can tell.)

“I’m also thinking perhaps I should make some little brochures explaining my D’s beliefs and her commitment to virtue and distribute the brochures to the other students on her hallway when we move her in. And then maybe I’ll follow up with the RA in a week or so after that.”

A fine idea – don’t forget to include her ACT’s, SAT’s, AP’s and a listing of her EC’s so that they know who they’re dealing with. They have a right to know, as does the rest of the Internet.

Ah, Pizzagirl. That explains a lot. S did inexplicably attend one of those schools, with no intention, however, of going into one of those fields.

This explains why he quit three months before graduating!

Excellent idea. Thanks. Maybe a website with all that information might be appropriate too. Hand delivered brochures can only reach so wide an audience.

If she does get pregnant, make sure it is with whatever will be URM

for fall 2027 college admissions.

Just don’t forget to include her social security number, date of birth and mother’s maiden name.

I knew you all would come through with some sensible advice. I really think my D is going to be pleased when I surprise her with the brochure and website!
