A NFL running playoff thread

@Leigh22 Wentz is already injury prone! Scares me. Agree that Foles is gone. I hope you are right about the Birds beating the Saints. My co-worker is pretty good at predicting and he thinks they will do it.

The 49ers found a pretty good backup QB as an UDFA (undrafted free agent), Nick Mullens. The Eagles can find someone in the draft or trade for someone’s backup. I wouldn’t worry too much about Foles leaving.

Anyone have any thoughts about Parkey showing up on the Today show? I thought it was incredibly “woe is me” and silly to show up at this time. To me, a career-ending type of move, he’ll be always now considered a wuss in the locker room, which is the most important thing.

Indy just chose to not show up?

Chiefs were playing at a different speed than the Colts. Kept having to remind myself that this is Mahomes first playoff game. Incredible command.

In the you pass to score. You run to win. Amazing Rams and Chiefs combine for 0 TD passes today

The Parkey “today” show move was not looked on favorably in Chicago. He should fire his publicist.

Was at CES in Vegas since Wednesday. Killed me to see everyone into the playoffs. I sorta blocked them out for now.

:frowning:

Am I the only one who thinks “liberal arts college” every time the LAC - NE score is flashed on the screen?

The Chargers are playing like an LAC v a big time school.

As a human interest story, I thought it very effective, so the PR guy should feel proud. That being said, Parkey’s Agent is probably cringing since it such an interview will not sit well with football players and fans – ‘you got ONE job, son’. Yes, dump the PR guy/gal…

The problem with the Chargers is that they transferred (from SD) and lost their merit scholarship and housing assignments.

What a start for Brees. :expressionless:

The Eagles Saints game is nearly unlistenable. Charles Davis is from Tennessee so I get his affection for NO; but Kevin Burkhardt is from North Jersey so did not expect him to be such a homer for NO. Switched to Merrill Reese for a while but the radio and TV aren’t quite in sync so that’s annoying. Apparently Sean Payton and Drew Brees aren’t just saints, they’re gods.

Even the commentary in the Pats-Chargers was pretty bad. Tony could think of nothing to say for the entire second half. That didn’t stop him for talking, but he had nothing to say.

Well, in Tony’s defense, what more can be said about Brady/Bellecheck, and with the Chargers laying an egg, he just has to fill time by babbling…

My prediction was that the Patriots would win by a lot (didn’t expect by THAT much) or they would lose. I didn’t think they’d win a tight game.

If I, a non professional, could predict that, don’t you think the professional broadcasters should have been prepared? He could have said more than “Well, that pass never works” He could have at least kept us up to date on the weather.

Had a party at my house with 25 people to watch the games.

Did not expect a Patriots blow-out, but am not complaining. in fact, I expected them to lose, but Rivers was terrible today, 25/51 and a lot of his yards were in garbage time.

Can’t say I’m sorry the Iggles lost.

I don’t expect the Patriots to win next week either, I hope I am pleasantly surprised again.

I was also at CES last week, which was a good time to drown out my sorrows. A somewhat funny story, a guy comes up to me and says “Go Bears” and I thought he was some Eagles fan being an a-hole, until I realized that I was wearing a UC-Berkeley polo shirt, lol.

I see that Coach Nagy is not happy at all with Parkey going on national TV. Bad career move.

.

Huge Kevin Burkhardt fan because he is from my area, and also used to be a Mets announcer. And I didn’t pay enough attention to detect NO-bias, but c’mon. He’s from Giants territory. We’re programmed to always root against the Eagles (unless maybe they are playing Dallas.)

@ProfessorPlum168. Too bad I didn’t know you were going. Would of been nice to meet you.

Yes, Nagy is not happy. Not that he went on tv. . Parkey didn’t mention it during his exist interview with Nagy. Then Nagy heard about it according to an interview today. He and Pace made it known today that they are looking for a kicker for at least the competition aspect. Ie : He’s gone.

While not particularly a Rams fan, I am rooting for them as I don’t want the Saints playing in Atlanta!!

Sure hope there are enough TSA agents working after the game or the airport will be quite an experience.

$5.2 million in dead cap space is steep, the Bears don’t have that much cap space and have only 38 players under contract for 2019. I’m betting they find a way to kiss and make up.
