About Hockaday School!

Does anyone know about Hockaday School? Tell me anything that you know of the school! Many thanks!

My D#2 looked at Hockaday but, it is primarily a day school and we were looking for BS. With that said, it is a great school with very strong academics. If matrics are of interest to you, they place a high number of students at Stanford. Are you looking to board? If so, keep in mind that the boarding population is very small. Good luck on your search

Hockaday’s boarders are few and mainly internationals or people from rural areas of southwestern states. It is mainly a day school. My daughter attended from 7th-10th grade and then went away to boarding school.
Hockaday is an excellent school and the best option for girls in Dallas. Strong faculty, amazing facilities and excellent college placement. Be prepared for the Dallas money-thing.

I went to Hockaday for 13 years, graduated in 2000, and am currently on the Alumnae Board of Directors. What in particular would you like to know? My telling you “everything I know” about Hockaday would take quite a while!! =)

Thanks for all your information.
I’m going to attend Hockaday this summer. I’m just wondering what the school is like! Cause I have never been to Hockaday before but already planned to go to!
What about the most popular colleges that students go to? And activities for boarding students( which I’m gonno be)? Thanks!

Hockaday girls go to many top colleges- Stanford seems to be a favorite. Always plenty to UTexas, SMU, Vandy, Penn and other highly selective schools. The main thing to do in Dallas is shop, so there will be lots of mall trips for the boarders. The athletic facilities are excellent, and there is a pool. They will have plenty for you to do.
