I’d like to know if there’s a study about how much percentage of students in top colleges and universities take or relay on any type of MAOIs. I know many families with high achiever high school kids taking them. Do this means, that with the extra-pressure of the academic demands of these top schools, these type of drugs are more predominant there?
I think you’re going to find many anti-depressants, anti-anxiety and Adderall at most campuses. But it’s an interesting question. Especially since those schools are going to attract the best students, who are used to being the best and are now in a more ‘competitive’ environment. I’d bet there might be a correlation
I don’t know what an MAOI is. Sooo…I guess it’s not true for me. Then again, I was super sheltered as a child and continue to be largely ignorant.
Kids at top schools are probably less likely to have untreated mental illnesses because they come from better-educated families. So you see more treatment, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there’s more illness.
