<p>I called today and spoke to Tisch Admissions and they also confirmed that you can still get admitted even if you don’t get the invite! Also, they will begin to mail acceptances on Friday, so do the calculations as to when you should get your letters!</p>
<p>With acceptance letters about to go out, let me just pass on to you that you will really need to try to summon all your inner strength, and have faith. My D’s acceptance letter only arrived when other parts of the country had already begun receiving rejections. It made for a wild couple of very emotional weeks…</p>

<p>My daughter auditioned today, and is flying home tonight. Tomorrow I’ll ask if she heard anything about notification dates. I know this is a difficult time and we will all be glad to get on with other things. Best of luck to everyone who is waiting to hear!</p>
<p>its so funny because im actually trying to transfer, but my brother is a junior in high school and he’s super smart and he keeps getting stuff from NYU and Im so jealous! Im like, “I wish I had your SAT scores!!!”

<p>Just to let everyone know, I spoke with NYU Tisch and they said studios placements would be sent out with acceptance letters. Let’s hope she is right! My daughter will be very happy about this.</p>

<p>That would be nice, racmom, and a departure of how it has been done in past years when the studio placement arrived about a week after the acceptance package. </p>
<p>That is one reason why those who read CC need to realize that whiile many of us can share the process from past years at these colleges, things can change year to year. </p>
<p>The audition process had changes this year at Tisch, as does the name of the accepted student event and now perhaps the admissions and studio notification process as well.</p>
<p>I hope she was right. It didn’t seem right from everything I read here, but it would save my daughter’s sanity. I thought I read somewhere on one of these threads that someone said they called and were told over the phone which studio. That’s why I called, hoping they would be able to tell me. That didn’t happen, but she did say studio placements would be mailed with the packet. </p>
<p>My daughter is trying to figure out between NYU and Marymount Manhattan and she needs to know the studio in order to make that decision. Any thoughts?</p>
<p>hmmmm. My friend’s daughter received her acceptance to Tisch and an invite to the event over a week ago and there was no studio assignment with it. I wonder what they are referring to about the studio placements being sent with the acceptance letters?</p>

<p>Even if they don’t send studio assignments with the acceptance letters, there is still plenty of time between the time the letters comes and the time you find out your studio to visit both schools and decide. :)</p>

<p>The sequence from the past has been…</p>
<p>Invitation to Saturday in the Square event for accepted students arriving mid March. </p>
<p>Acceptance (or denial) package/letter sent arriving end of March or by April 1. </p>
<p>One week past the admissions package, studio placement letters sent. </p>
<p>From what racmom was told on the phone, it sounded like studio placement letters would come with the acceptance package (the package to arrive any day now) but that would be a departure from the past. </p>
<p>As far as phone calls…you may be recalling a post of mine from the past. My D got the invitation to Sat. in the Square in mid March. She got the acceptance package to NYU/Tisch at the end of March. A week later (it was before the Sat. in Square event), I called to ask about studio placement and they were mailing that letter out that day and offered to tell me it on the phone (again this is a week after the acceptance package). I remember this (did not expect to be told on the phone) because I recall the image vividly…in the living room…D in a hospital bed set up there to which she was confined and a local friend was over visiting with her and when we heard she was placed into CAP21, she was very happy. We knew it before we attended Sat. in the Square. </p>
<p>I cross posted with NMR but I agree with her that you will know the studio placement by about April 8 and that is enough time to visit the schools and decide. Based on your phone call, you may even know the studio if they put that in the acceptance package this year (I have no idea…only what they told you) which arrives any day now.</p>
<p>racmom…also…your D’s situation is the same as all the other accepted students have had in all the years so far. :D</p>
<p>Okay, I shouldn’t have been so excited about my first conversation. The second person I spoke with said studio placements will come about two weeks after the NYU acceptance letter. Apparently it depends on who you get on the phone. Sorry to get anyones hopes up.</p>
<p>OK, then it IS the same as in the past. Studio placements come out about a week after your acceptance package. My guess is that you’ll receive the placement by about April 7 or 8.</p>

Several CCers got their studio assignments on April 4 last year.

<p>And take heart, because the financial aid offer (if there is one) comes with the regular decision letter if you get accepted.</p>
<p>It is hard to wait for the studio assignment, but the time does pass and I must say finding out my D got into her first choice, CAP21, was all the sweeter for the waiting.</p>
