Acceptance Rate Drops to 24.7%

Of 20,649 regular decision applicants, NU accepted 4,852.</p>

<p>NU sent letters of acceptance to 24.7 percent of applicants for the class of 2011 - down from 29.6 percent last year.

“We would much rather come in at the end and have room to admit a few students from the wait list than admit too many students and not have room for them all in the dormitories,” Todd said

<p>Looks like there’s a high chance some on the waitlist will be admitted. Don’t lose hope if you are one of those that decide to stay on it.</p>

<p>They had a problem with a larger than expected class a couple of years ago.</p>

<p>This is just lovely. The acceptance rates are all dropping so much… I’m losing a lot of hope, especially since next year is the “peak” year with the highest number of applicants. argh.</p>
