Accepted at Williams and Amherst rejected from Oberlin

I don’t understand how I got in via transfer to both Williams and Amherst, both around 3% acceptance rate, yet was rejected from Oberlin, which is around 22%. I had a 3.96 GPA, strong essay, and one rec letter that said I’m legitimately the most brilliant student the professor ever taught…How did I not get in? My interests are in history, which would have been my major there. I wouldn’t have gone to Oberlin even had I been admitted, but still. Any thoughts?

Then move on. Pick one of the others

My thought is to forget about Oberlin and focus on choosing from your two fantastic acceptances.

How much aid do you need ?

In the end, you can choose one.

If you got into all three, I’m guessing you’d choose one of the two you now get to choose from.

As you are the most brilliant ever, I’m sure you’ll crush it there and afterward.

Good luck.

No one here knows why any student is accepted or rejected as we do not have access to the schools’ institutional priorities. I fail to see the purpose of this thread and there is no way to answer the question. Closing thread.
