Right, and there are always alternatives–salad bar, pasta, pb&j, Nutella. You should also know there are always choices at sit- down meals, including vegetarian options-- but you can always find other things listed above. Then, if you really can’t stand the choices, you can buy food at The Greer (in the gym building) or cafe ( in the Koch science building). The food at both are very good–but aren’t included in your boarding. You get a Greer card at the beginning of the year, and your parents can choose to put money on it for food/ snacks/ drinks at the cafes, supplies at the school store and athletic store, etc. But in answer to your question, there are choices at sit down meals, alternatives are always available (that you don’t have to pay extra for), and you never have to take anything you don’t want. Students take turns as waiters, bringing the food on platters served family-style ( and later clearing the tables), and you choose what to put on your plate. By the way, I hear the bakers are very good, so there’s always dessert if you don’t like the main dishes!

@skieurope @daykidmom that is so relieving to hear! I imagined sit down meals as being served several courses without an option as to whether we would like to eat it or not.
