Accepted !!!

SO after getting waitlisted by Washu and rejected by Northwestern ( #1 choice:( ) I thought maybe my fortunes would change with my remaining schools but after today i give up.

As most of my fellow highly capable cc applicants to lehigh i have been rejected on the condition that if i would pay 42000 thousand they would reconsider my aplication aka accept me if i gave them money.!!! lol what a car ap shoot school.

anyways here’s my 1000 post highlighting the fact that I have given up on my reach schools ( Cornell, Tufts and Johns Hopkins remain) but looking at the ongoing pattern I see no change! I am most likely to go to Arizona state, university of arizona or I.I.T ( Illinois …) which in my opinion are great schools ( infact better than lehigh for engineering and business haha!). I just hope i get some merit based scholarshipS!

and btw Pakistan wiinning today cheered me up a bit ( sorry my fellow indians) but the fact that they had a really young and weak team and still drew the series in India is amazin! And Mr Ganguly please do the nation the favor of going back to ranji torphy for a year , practice batting and come back lik eyou did in 1996.

and yeah i am back to posting !! Cheers to my 1000th post!

oh yeah thanks to everyone who bumped this up, it felt really good to read all the posts and congrats to the acceptees!

i’m sorry bout the bad news nomad.
where u at now?
expecting to hear from just those 3 schools now?
gd luck!

well applied to waterloo too let’s see how that goes, I currently live in the US and have been here for 1.5 years ( applying as an international student thought which scks:P) congrats on your acceptances!

thanks nomad!
im freaking out bout gtown tho…
the mail is taking so long
do u noe of ne internationals that hve gotten their decisonis yet?

<3 nofx…well i used to at least
cooldude…cmu as in canadian mennonite university??

cmu= carnegie mellon university

hey nomad
yeah you should lose your hopes for the 3/4 remainging schools. Then, when you get your acceptance letters, you’ll be so over joyed and like burst. (lol dat’s what i do in compititions and stuff)
Honestly nomad, jhu could love you and accept you! But then, IIT is such a great school for engineering.

Waitlist for WashU – there’s still hope there. I’d be happy if I was waitlisted for washu (way better than rejection). – is that the one in st.louis? many people apply to st.louis as a saftey school - these ppl apply to the ivies. Most likely, they will get accepted to their match schools and pray that these people are prestige whores - then, there will be space fo u!
goodluck!

yeah they used to be my favorite band for ages when I was in my pre/early teens… ahh the memories lol

i got into Skidmore the other day. Still waiting on NYU-Stern, Claremont McKenna, and Bowdoin.

Good luck to everyone! :)

Skidmore??? email or mail??? When did you get the news!

silver_wavez I heard some people heard from Georgetown recently but they were locals so not so sure about Internationals sorry !

anyhow Washu cannot be considered a safety anymore, refer washu forum for more details. Washu furthermore doesn’t give aid to people accepted from the waitlist so …

thanks noFx for the gl and wish you the same for next year ( you are applying next year I think?)

Washu waitlisted alot of qualified applicants this year to take in those people, who in their opinion, are truly interested in the school.

ughh although I LOVE washu, I don’t like the way they accept applicants. That school is a prestige wanabe school .at early decision, they deferred ALOT of qualified applicants so they could be looked upon as a “selective school”. Then in the regular decision, they accept nearly all of them (that just qualify) so there’s only a little bit of space avail for regulars (also here, wanted to be mentioned as a selective school)
Also, they give HEAPS fin aid to the REALLY qualified applicants - qualified enough for the high ivies - only because they want to lure those applicants with money and become a smart school. Something about Washu’s system urks me a bit… yes but i LOVE that school (my 2 or 3rd choice!)

oh i suddenly realized hello=cooldude & cooldude=hello…
omg…i had been missing you…got any news???
i have only got my MIT letter…the rest coming soon…to complete the collection for my ‘aint accepted nowhere’ club ;)

just done with my send ups and preparing for entry test for a local university …right there on sunday…who says GCE?GCSEs are harder than boards???..especially with MCQs asking you questions like…

Pwpsin (the enzyme in stomach) has an optimum PH of;

**well i guessed the stomach has HCl so it must be low somewhere near one…but when i looked at the options…
a)1
b)1.2
c)1.4
d)1.6

well i am helpless…MCQs are meant to be objective…how the hell i can answer such questions unless i remeber precisely each and every read in the Board’s book…

i need to sharpedn my memmory cells and devour the books in 3 days…and among them the decisions

Seems like Applying abroad makes everyone think idealistically and opportunity to run away from the prevailing realities…

bump…

yeah… board exams…

Hahahahahahahaha

thank god my GCE A or Os were nothin like tt… tho chem mcq were still the worst, u barely had time to finis, so much bloody calculations and drawin tens of organic isomers and all tt crap…
bio on the other hand u cud go thru 2 whole rounds of checkin all mcqs in the time given!!
seriosuly, they shud cut half an hr of bio time and paste to chem… :p

Sorry to bother, but there is no way IIT or University of Arizona are better in engineering than Lehigh. Lehigh is only good for engineering and somewhat business, but it is ranked higher than some ivies (darthmouth for example) in its engineering program.
I got the 45K letter from lehigh as well  !

Hmm check the rankings again:) ( for university of arizona and arizona state)

and it is NOT ranked higher than dartmouth college
