Hey @tsbna44 I was trying to reply to you but the post was locked regarding the false accusation from collegeboard during the SAT claiming that I have recovered the questions and spread it out online which I didn’t. Yes my score for this august SAT was cancelled. But I am still allowed to use other online functions so I am eligible to send past SAT scores and past AP scores. But I am banned from taking collegeboard exams for 2 years from now, so I won’t be able to take another SAT or AP test. But I think I will be good with it because even though I lose my appeal I don’t want to like legally sue just like the writer did because I am a rising senior and I want to focus solely on my application. Also, I already had a 1530 superscore before I just took the test because I already signed up for it before getting the scores so I think I’m good. But just in case if I need a higher score for places like ivies, I will definitely try the ACT.
You may find the ACT easier to prep for, and possibly easier to get a 36 on, especially in the English sections. Try the free one on their website. Also, the ACT can still be taken on paper, which you might find more to your liking.
Hello thanks for your advice! Yes that is why I am considering taking it but I do not want to waste my time in test prep since early applications are in 2 months. Also, as I mentioned, I already have a superscore of 1530 so I am really thinking about this. But before that, I really want to prove that I am innocent so I hope the appeal goes well. If not, I just have to move on with it, as legal process in terms of collegeboard accusations takes months to years which i do not want to waste. Lastly, I want to ask whether there are any disadvantages for not taking aps during my senior year of highschool. I was planning to take 1 or 2 ap courses in our school that I did not take in the past. But since I am banned for 2 years, I cannot afford to do so.

A 1530 is great - and a higher score doesn’t guarantee a better entry.
Assuming your GPA is solid, you’ll have choices - and depending on your budget (if you need money but don’t qualify for need aid), you’ll have many schools (not Ivy) throwing money at you.
Sometimes you can’t fight the bully - in this case, yes, you don’t want to miss deadlines for applications or do a lesser job on them because your focus was elsewhere.

You’re not banned from taking the class, and learning the material, and getting an A in it. You’re just banned from taking the AP exam. However, most highly selective schools won’t give credit for AP/CLEP. They might allow you to place out of an intro level, but you can ask to take the final for that class at the college you wind up at, and place out that way, too. If you had been planning on attending a state public U, they usually do give credit for AP. If your school has dual enrollment as an option (some schools offer dual enrollment and/or AP for the same class), then that might be an option for you, too.
They sent the exact same as I did. So what they basically saying is that I recovered my own sat questions and like spread it out online. But what I am confused is I submitted my phone to the proctor and he was watching thoroughly around the room checking everyone how they’re doing. I don’t know what the evidence was for when they accused me for it so that is what I asked for of my appeal. I asked for clear and substantial evidence on what led me committing misconduct.
Yes thanks for your kind words! Yes I will try to apply to many schools using my score but I will also definitely fight back through the appeal so that I can clarify what went wrong. If not, I won’t carry it on and move on with it. I just wanted to know if there are any disadvantages in not taking any ap exams during senior year, since I’m banned for 2 years of CB exams.
The disadvantage is - depending where you go - not getting college credit for the class. If you go to a school that grants credit, that’s the disadvantage - so that could shave time off your college life or free up other classes. But many kids re take classes anyway, including core to your major.
Admission wise it will not impact because you’ll have a yes or no to every single college long before you could ever take an AP test senior year. So zero impact.
Yes ok thanks. But yes but I already have a few 5s and 4s that I can receive credit even from T10 schools so no worries for that. Yes that would also be an option as a safety and no dual enrollment is not offered in my country. But my question genuinely is will colleges blacklist students who were confirmed cheating and banned from CB or would CB not inform colleges about which students were banned from cheating? Or can CB access to student’s CB accounts?
You’ll never know why you get or don’t get into a school. If you’re international, the top schools have 1-5% admission rates and even lower tier schools often have less than 10%. Your ability to pay will be what matters as much if not more than your record. Colleges want the $$ - that’s why so few get admitted - they don’t admit who they have to support (in most cases - there are some need blind schools but their admit rates are the lowest because everyone applies so they get the most apps).
You will not be blacklisted though - they won’t know. Your penalty is the future tests have been cancelled.

Do you mean they are saying you copied the SAT questions on your test to look up the answers online?
Yes, CB can inform colleges that they banned you from taking tests for cheating. I don’t know whether they always do that or not, have you spoken with your HS counselor (assuming you have one?)
I also don’t understand what this means? What exactly does the letter from CB say?
Was anyone else from your test room accused of cheating?
ETA: Can you access your CB account…you are going to need to do that in order to send an official test score. Or did they cancel all your scores?

Totally true. Yes I understand ur point but other than the false accusation I have clearly a strong profile from what I believe and since I can pay full tuition. Oh thank you I was genuinely wondering whether I will be in a disadvantageous position during college admission. Thanks for letting me know.
Oh no so what they’re claiming is there were answers revealed online and I was the one spreading it out. Like I had my phone and other devices submitted and I am sure there were no external applications open. Idk why they are suspecting me as the leaker when I did nothing. Maybe because the revealed answers had similar or exactly the same type of questions and sequence with my test, which is possible but literally impossible.

So that was actually the official statement from collegeboard and I assume what they’re saying is the answers for the test was revealed and viral online, but for somereason I was suspected as the guy. Idk why but I believe they just assumed it was me probably because the revealed questions were in similar sequence and type with my original test. But I can make it sure that there were no external applications open and I also had to submit my phone to the proctor. So what I suspect is either there was a external software hacking my device or another kid in the testing room either next to me or at the back of me was filming the questions which his or her phone. For the CB account, yes I can access to it they only mentioned they are going to ban from future CB exams so registration and accessing to bluebook is blocked but CB account itself is fine so I can still send the scores I received in the past.
Many college applications ask if you have ever been found responsible for a disciplinary violation or academic misconduct at any educational institution or testing agency. You should answer these questions truthfully as you may have acceptances rescinded if the truth comes to light afterwards. I hope you get this all sorted out quickly.
Yes I am also familiar with this. I have searched it up but I am not sure about this because most colleges are asking whether you have made violent actions at any educational institutions I have attended from 9th grade. My question is whether I should say yes to this because the collegeboard is not an educational institution that I have attended but instead is a private corporation.
Ok well I don’t know how you would get any further with this. Bluebook can see if you had any other things open so if this is the case you’d be out of luck - someone hacking your computer just to share SAT questions seems odd - and it seems equally odd you’d have to hand your phone in but that someone might have had theirs out and been filming you when you said the proctor was “watching thoroughly around the room checking everyone how they’re doing.” Yes at this point in the absence of a successful appeal you’re going to have to cut your losses and move on. Luckily as you say you already have a decent superscore.
