Say yes to questions that ask about academic dishonesty that would include testing agencies. I’m not sure I know a school that asks about a testing agency specifically, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Many colleges limit the academic dishonesty question to include only HSs attended and DE classes/institutions.
This is school specific, so check each college’s question section in the common app. The common app does not ask any general disciplinary questions.
No one here is an admissions counselor and even if someone were, it wouldn’t be at the school you are applying to. Questions asked are very direct - you will know how to answer by reading it, presuming you plan to be honest.
If you get in nowhere, you will not know why - but if you are full pay and you apply to less competitive schools, you will no doubt find a home - because they want money from internationals.
Whether you are in or not, complete the application. There will be little ambiguity and little to worry about - because unless you have an assured admission somewhere, then as an international, you will likely be shut out if you apply to top schools which have a 1-5% acceptance rate. Even some not top schools have a 10% or less rate (like a Whitman), but those are the ones likely looking for the full pay kids. Public schools won’t be as difficult.
Apply - and see. Like anyone, it’s all you can do even if you didn’t get caught up in drama.

Yes.. I also thought so but I really don’t understand why I was accused. Because there has been always issues about answer leaks for the SAT. And that was all from someone that was exposing the exact same test versions online. So I believe it was that sort of issue. So that is why I really don’t understand why they accused me for cheating. Yes I totally understand your claim and yes that is why I think most students although they try to appeal there has never been cases where students have won it. I will try my best to move on but I’m just genuinely worried if collegeboard will actually release the statement about my account and status to the AOs. Yes I will submit my superscore and I will also try to take the upcoming ACT just in case. Yes I am an international student but I will get my greencard before regular deadline.
What would be the motivation to copy questions and post them online anyway? Where is the personal benefit in doing so? I understand why College Board is unhappy with this but don’t understand why someone (not saying OP did this, in general) would jeopardize their score to do this?
Yes I understand it. I need to ask other ppl but what I heard is that most schools ask about academic dishonesty that has happened in the educational institution you have been attending not about collegeboard. So yes I will check each college’s question section in the common app and if they genuinely ask about if you have any misconducts during any sort of academic event, I will make sure to click yes and explain the context. I guarantee the support because my school counselor believes in me and the proctor has also seen me and he never suspected me using the phone.
That is what I’m saying and wondering! Yes ofc I totally understand they’re mad at this situation as high chance someone reported this to collegeboard themselves but like I really don’t understand why a person would sacrifise their career just to reveal it online which doesn’t make sense. Also, not just test takers, but I was heard that these problems go viral because there has been recovery in test versions itself. That means someone inside collegeboard who were able to access the test versions earlier may also be the ones revealing it online. I genuinely don’t understand why cb would accuse me for this when from what I know does not have factual evidence on why it was me.
You should stop worrying about what’s out of your control.
Apply, answer questions honestly. If you are asked the question (and you may not be), you can proclaim your innocence in the additional info section.
I don’t think you’ll be asked and I think you’ll be fine.
You self report scores at most schools - so it won’t even be sent til after you accept somewhere and if you are truthful on your app, you weren’t accused of cheating to earn a score.
I think you’re making a bigger deal of this than it needs to be and I worry that it will take away from the quality of your apps if you focus on this.
Like anyone, you need a balanced list with an assured, affordable admission. You want top schools - but few just cruise into top schools. There’s always a risk.

There is a discussion about this issue elsewhere, and it was suggested that some people share/sell the info through other sites like telegraph.
Thanks for your kind word! Yes I will try to appeal but if it does not work, I will move on from it. Yes I will provide the context on how I will be backed up by my counselor and proctor about this. Yes I also recognize that I can self report my scores and I will be safe from this. But my concerns were that collegeboard can officially disclose to colleges about my banning and punishment from misconduct. But yes I really need to move on with my application so that I can focus on it and move on. Thank you for your words!

Yes I have also read it out. I really think collegeboard is so irresponsible for their decision making. Like I truly don’t understand how they thought it would be secure just like how you mentioned and their system makes it so vulnerable for students to appeal when they make up these false accusations as collegeboard themselves judge these cases even for appeals.
This is why I am so stressed here. If collegeboard actually discloses my suspension to colleges, what should I do? I am not sure if I can even attend a college at this point..
This is out of our control, so try not to worry about it. I agree that appealing and even suing CB is a waste of time and money because nothing will be resolved for years, well after you go to college.
If they do report you, say you didn’t cheat (as long as that’s true) and the score you reported was from well before you were accused of cheating.
The digital tests are more secure than paper. If students get some ‘real’ questions beforehand, the chances they receive those questions in an adaptive test of 98 questions (taken from a pool of hundreds of thousands of questions) is miniscule. CB’s bluebook practice tests are comprised of retired questions, and many questions are very similar year after year.
Yes ok thanks for the concerns. I would also stop worrying about this and yes I will definitely try that by informing my school counselors since they will back me up and my test proctor’s letter to prove that I didn’t cheat. Regarding the reply to @parentologist, I believe the writer is trying to say how collegeboard’s decision for students to bring their own laptop would not lead to any security issues. They could simply assign the test centers to establish a PC so that test takers can take the exam using it. That way, it can prevent students from downloading these weird external applications on their own device.
