ACT February 12th Reading and Science Discussion

Post questions/comments and any answers you guys remember here!

please post…im dying to know some answers

me too. did u get “increased only” for all science questions

yes for every single one… and did u put lens cells or neurons?

that one was confusing. But the passage mentioned the brain sending signal, so I had to pick neurons.

yeah same its gotta be… that was my logic… i didnt think science was too bad… but i guessed for 5 reading so i was upset and it may have flowed into my science section… by i thought the test was overall good… any other sci questions u remember?

the last one? p4?

i had no idea what they were really asking so i took a total guess of 340000 which is prob not right

the reading was tough. I usually get 35, 36’s on readings. This one i honestly think i got a 32/31

dude i got a 30 on my last one and was so happy… im a math student really… but i thought the reading was easy…i go from passage 4-3-2-1 so i thought 4 3 2 were easy… but they i didnt have time so i guess on 4-5 from the first passage

for the seals passage, what did u say is the different between the maldivan currents and eddies?

it was direction because it said they clashed together remember which made it tough on the whales

three wrong already.

hey better than guessing on 4-5 right? lol

lol that may bump up to a 5. did u check any of the ones u guessed on?

i dont even know the questions!!

oh that sucks :(

I thought the science section was a lot tougher than usual actually. I got a 31 on my last science practice test, but I doubt I even got a 25 on this test lol. I thought reading was normal. However, what did you guys put for one of the first questions that went something along the lines of “What does ‘her entire world’ refer to?” I put South Boston. Also, what answers did you get for the yes/no questions in science? (not all of them, just whatever you can remember).

Yeah, south Boston is right. I remember for most of the science, I put increase…
I had a few that I’m not too sure about.

  1. What was the answer to the one asking for p4 in the Experiment? I looked at the graph, assumed p4 meant 4 hours and… chose A, which i believe was 160,000
  2. It asked you that if this occurred, the experiment would look more like model 2… i put increased by 2p0, but im sure thats wrong because then itd be linear.
  3. It asked what transmits the signal to the brain… i chose neurons
  4. It was the one testing the rate/width of the thing and asked you according to the passage or model, changing this would increase the flow rate… i chose increase diameter of funnel, but not sure, i think it could be increase incline…
  5. It asks if the flowrate/width of the thing was ever wider than the width of the booard or w/e… i chose no b/c it was always under 80 cm.
These were the ones i was unsure about…
it sucks because i feel i did well on every section but science. seemed much harder than practice…

Yeah I was tripped up by the same ones…

I don’t remember my answer to this question

I think I put C or D.

I put neurons too. I think it was one of those few questions that they put trying to test knowledge from courses. I didn’t see other similar questions on the test, so I figured it was trying to ask that.

I put increase the angle because of gravity and how that would put more force on the object. I think increasing diameter wouldn’t really increase velocity. Idk, I might be wrong.

I don’t remember this one…I had to completely guess on this question due to time constraints.

Yeah this test was much harder. They better put a good curb. I think they will considering how many people felt they bombed it…
