Hi,
I am planning to write the ACT on the 14th April. I wanted to know, if a month’s preparation would suffice. Which books should I refer? Are the following books good:
10 practice test papers by TMH
Barron’s ACT 36: Aiming for the Perfect Score
1,296 Act Practice Questions by Princeton Review
Thanks

Yes, 1 month is enough. I gave the exam with 1 week of prep and got 33 composite.
I had the red book and princeton review. They were to the point and the red book has 5 actual ACT tests.

Oh, and I personally would suggest you to buy " Cracking the ACT: By princeton review" as I found it quite good with questions of the same level as of the test, if not higher ( Some people may find it hard though).
If you are a CBSE student, you should score around 34-35 on the test, the test is not very hard IMO. Only requires basic concepts :p

IMO with proper prep( Which I am doing, will give the september ACT), you can get 33+.

^^ Thnx for mentioning it. I thought it was in June and I had to go to summer@Brown on the same day.
Will give the April ACT( deadline is tomorrow  )

Well Nash, that’s a question you should be asking yourself. Will one month be enough for you?

I didn’t take the ACT, so I am not sure which books will be most helpful, however you should check out the ACT sub-forum of the Test Preparation Forum on College Confidential for more sound advice.

@Mrinal: Reading your explanation about the ACT reminded me of a statement I once read, “The SAT is an aptitude test whereas the ACT is a knowledge test.” ;)

Princeton and Barron are enough and both are good.
One month is enough! I scored 35 composite.
and ACT has science component, so science students usually do well in it.

Hi everyone
I am good at all sections except Reading. I get 36 - 35 in Maths and Science. 33 - 32 in English. But I am only able to get 22 - 24 in Reading. Please help me. What should i do to increase my score in Reading

Thanks Tizil. Can you tell me whether international students need to submit mid term reports or is it that we only have to submit International Supplement

University of Michigan, Uva, NYU, UIUC, UPenn. International Supplement of Common Application Form. Do we need to submit the predicted scores only or the half yearly scores also for the above universities. Also, do we need to submit our 11th scores or not?

You have to submit a 4 year transcript of 9th to 11 grade and 12th’s expected grades and you also have to submit midyear report of 12th in February to most schools.
