has anyone got into the architecture program yet?

@fallenchemist I just received my first quarter report card and got straight A’s in all AP classes. If I want to send my first quarter grades, should I email a PDF of my report card to my admissions counselor?

@aagguuss

Absolutely! Nice job.

@aagguuss if you used the common app, I believe you’d want to use the optional report (from your counselor) for that

@myjanda i never received the email with my gibson login. After around five days of feeling anxious, i went on gibson and clicked “forgot username” and they had me enter my email and sent one a minute after. Turns out i had an account, but originally did not receive an email with the login. I am sure of this because i searched everything, even all of my junk folders and found nothing. i was accepted two days after i clicked “forgot username”.

@archhjs I was admitted to the B.S. architecture program about a week ago.

Has anyone from the Bay Area heard? I applied over a month ago (and have strong stats), but I still haven’t heard anything. I’m thinking it must be an overload of applications from one area.

Hi, I have a question. I submitted my app yesterday…the day before the early action deadline and my transcripts are sent in, but I just sent in my act scores. Is that bad?

@immersed I think you’ll be fine (ACTs should take at most 2 weeks to arrive, and I think 1 week is more realistic). My guess is that you’ll find out closer to the December 15th, though.

has anyone been accepted SCEA? I feel like I saw one acceptance but i can’t find it. Do they wait longer on those since they know you will be coming? @fallenchemist

@jkenny50

I don’t think they treat them differently in terms of timing. They actually don’t know you are coming, SCEA involves no commitment.

@fallenchemist I am still waiting to hear back…they had recieved all my info and it’s been ready to review since September. I have a 33 act, lots of leadership and work experience, good essays. I am almost done with my deans honor scholarship project but still haven’t heard. Kids with far lower caliber grades are getting in from my school (good public school on Long Island). Is there any reason I wouldn’t have heard back already?

@jgalls

I am guessing of course, but maybe they are not convinced that you are serious about Tulane? Over the years I have been amazed at how good they are at figuring that out, but they are human and no doubt get a few wrong. Turning in your DHS application will be a huge indicator you are serious. You could always send a note to your admissions person at the same time just letting them know you have submitted it and that you are excited about Tulane.

@jgalls - D is in th same boat with 34 ACT and lots of other good stuff. Her app was final in September, but they have accepted other kids with lower stats from her school without need. I think they are probably overwhelmed with applications because they decided to take the Common App this year for the first time, and they don’t know how to figure out who is really interested. She isn’t going to fill out any scholarship apps in order to prove she is serious though (not to say she won’t do them, but we’d like to see what kind of aid we get first) - if they can’t tell from her essay then that’s an issue!
