Good morning everyone! Anyone from Manhattan hear yet? Just because I haven’t anything to add to any of this I will go ahead and share my stats. Did the “Why Tulane” essay, and I think it was pretty good. Got 5’s on my APS and my SAT score was 2100 (700 600 710) I am pretty well involved in EC’s. Tulane is seriously a real choice for me.
I am not 100% sure on this, but I think they do. Let’s put it this way. I know they used to, but it is possible with the changes in the SAT that are upcoming, they no longer are. I am not sure about that.
I remembered from the info session that they would not consider the writing in admissions but I just checked the website to be sure. “We do not require scores for the written portion of either test.” hmmm… D has a 1330 on CR+M. Writing was a bit lower 620. 720 on Lit Sat II.
Hello everyone! @fallenchemist
My application was complete on September 28. Illinois State Scholar announcements just came out about a week ago. Should I shoot my counselor an e-mail letting her know I am an Illinois State Scholar? I am a borderline applicant with a 28 ACT. Would this help me at all?
I always come down in the “it can’t hurt” camp. Again, just keep it short and upbeat, not any hint of a pleading tone or a “where is my decision” tone.
I’m really nervous! I applied in late October and still haven’t heard yet! Many people who applied after me (not only from my school) got in! I’m confused why I haven’t heard yet. I got a 32 on the act and a 4.39/4.8 weighted GPA with tons of extra curricular and volunteer work such as being EMT certified! I applied with an interest in French as well. Does this mean I am not getting accepted?
@anxiousgirl24 Don’t worry, other posters have mentioned that people at their school received acceptances weeks after them, despite having applied earlier. It’s really random when admissions picks up your application.
If financial aide is needed, does that hold up acceptance. Does anyone know how the process works – after acceptance, is the financial status then reviewed?
It makes zero difference in acceptance, Tulane is need blind. Financial packages generally are not reviewed until February, since the deadline for the FAFSA and CSS is February 15. So it couldn’t affect EA/SCEA applications, and it doesn’t affect the others, either.
@evhsklu What state? Or are you international? I’m from SC and I received mine about a week or so after seeing my acceptance on Gibson. I say if you’re an American and don’t hear by Monday then I would email or call them.
Yes, I think so. Anyone whose acceptance was posted on Gibson shortly before Tday should add one week to the wait time. There might not have been any student workers in that week, and they handle these mailings.
