thanks!

I realized I never sent in my why Tulane essay. Just emailed admissions it, hope it’s not too late.

Got in with a merit scholarship!

@cab598 sorry about the deferral :frowning: I find this interesting because I too was deferred and again, it seems like my application was pretty similar to yours (though you may still have had an edge on me).

@fallenchemist just curious, do you think it’s possible that these deferrals were due partially to scores being on the higher side? I know that my scores (1400, 3.93) are not Ivy high, but they still put me in the top 4% (according to College Board). Would you mind looking at my stats post (#844, pg.57) and give me your general thoughts? This is the first school I’ve heard back from (and I applied 4 others EA - albeit ones that are easier to get into), and I’m left a little puzzled as to where to go from here. Thanks!

Hey guys! I won’t do the whole dramatic post put hopefully throwing some of my numbers out there will benefit other people. I was accepted to Tulane with the Leadership Award ($10,000 a year). ACT = 32. I think my UW gpa is probably around a 3.4 - 3.5 (however started my senior year with all As in 6 ap classes). My gpa is definitely the low point in my application, however I do have pretty significant course rigor. (3 ap classes junior year, 6 senior year). Extracurriculars are definitely the strongest part of my application. My suggestion to anyone applying is to definitely show interest. I visited campus, went to events in my area, and emailed with my admissions officer. Best of luck to everyone, and maybe you’ll be seeing me in NOLA next year!

Accepted a week ago and got an e-mail telling me that I should’ve received my letter but didn’t get the letter :o! (I don’t think I got any scholarships so I suppose the letter can only tell me what already know:

Still waiting… I’ve commented previously but I applied October 15th. 33 ACT, 3.5 GPA, 5 APs total, rigorous private high school in CA, far too many extracurriculars. I’ve begun to lose hope since I’ve been checking Gibson around 30 times every day since October 15th, and I’m growing tired of seeing the same message. Just wanted to let you know that there are other people that haven’t heard yet. Hoping to hear soon :frowning:

@rj1997 Hi yea I submitted mine around Nov 1 and still haven’t heard back. I have 34 act and 3.95 gpa so about the same stats as you. What I have seen on this is that people with higher stats are getting deferred. i saw in another thread that Tulane tends to defer people with higher stats because they know those students are using Tulane as a “safety” school especially if they see you have no interest. I feel your pain I have been checking like every hour also!!
