@pdxcwa According to posters on the TU forum, award winners were notified yesterday by UPS delivery, and rejection emails are expected by this weekend.
Also according to other posters, all admission decisions are to be released this week. Does any one have confirmation of that? Are they posted on the Gibson portal right away or do we have to wait for mail?
I really doubt that. I think someone confused the release of the awards with admissions decisions. Let’s put it this way: If they do release all admissions decisions this week, that would be completely unprecedented.
I agree with Fallenchemist. I think someone is confusing the DHS/PT awards and admissions decisions. THere is still a lot of time for admission decisions to come out.
I think the list of historical notification dates listed March 25 for Tulane last year. I’m not sure if that’s accurate, but maybe the person confused February 25 with March 25.
March 25 sounds about right for the major release of decisions last year, with some stragglers coming as late as April 1.
So scholarship winners got mail already? D: oh well!
@blindpaper From what I’ve read, they are talking about the Distinguished Honor Scholars and the Paul Tulane Award. Other than that, other scholarships are still being distributed with admissions decisions. I haven’t received any notifications yet, and I check my portal about every 15 minutes!
Yes, the scholarships that involve separate applications (DHS, PTA, CSF, and Global) are what we are talking about, and it appears that all the DHS and PTA are done. Stamps is an extension of the DHS in essence, and I am sure that is still being decided. The CSF (Community Service Fellowship) goes out in mid-March usually, and I don’t know about the Global, which is for internationals only.
Can’t sign into the Gibson portal tonight. Anyone else?
I had the same problem, it seems to be working now
I applied back in October for RD and still haven’t heard anything back yet
(about 60 kids from my school applied to Tulane, all have heard back) i also applied for the community service scholarship, so I’m not sure if that means my decision will come back later than usual.
My son learned today that he is not getting the Paul Tulane award–received an email. He got the Presidential scholarship, however.
im having trouble getting my username.
ive put my email and everything and they said to check it but ive never got anything for a while now… can someone please help me ?
Did you try the link on the Gibson portal where it says something like “Having trouble with username/password?” or “Forgot username/password?”? See if that gets it back for you.
Yeah, my friend’s D was deferred EA round and hasn’t heard back. She also had applied very early in the process. Her stats are on the lower end though. Is Tulane need aware when looking at who gets in from the Waitlist?
@goingnutsmom I can’t find anything about whether the waitlist is need-blind, but it’s not ranked, which I think is how need-awareness would be incorporated. There’s still a month to worry about admissions, though.
is it a bad sign that I haven’t heard back yet after being deferred early action??
@jmk1998 I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I recently emailed my admissions counselor, and she said that they were in the midst of the application process.
I applied regular decision and still haven’t heard back. Does anyone know in which order the applications are reviewed? Is it by geographic region, last name, etc.??
No order at all.
