They are releasing decisions today!!! I just checked my portal about 20 min ago and I am finally accepted after waiting for nearly 6 months! I’m so relieved I could cry! I was deferred on 1/31 too so this was a major relief!
Here are my stats in case anyone wants them:
In-state
GPA cum.: about 4.1
ACT: 27
National Honors Society & National French Honors Society
Lots of service hours (150ish)
Many leadership roles
In 4-H for 9 yrs (was secretary for 4 hrs and current president)
XC and Track
Words cannot even begin to describe how happy and relieved I am right now!!!
Just got rejected from my #2 choice. Really praying for OSU now. People in my town got accepted to my 2nd choice with SATs in the 1000-1100 range and mine are much higher than that. So disappointing
Birthday next week, only thing I want is to hear back and hopefully be accepted. So sick of waiting but happy for everyone who has paid their dues and is hearing back
@datdudetd I got deferred the day before my birthday, needless to say it was not a very happy birthday for me. I hope you get good news for your birthday!
I am really intrigued if anyone has gotten denied at all… people who I know that were deferred haven’t been denied. No one on this forum has posted about being denied than I can recall of. Or they’re just waiting to release all of the denied applicants on the final week…
@datdudetd when I checked last year’s thread, it didn’t seem like many deferred students were denied. However, many were waitlisted. I’m hoping we all receive good news
I sent in 3 letters of rec from 2 of which were from teachers (1 of which is a senior year teacher who wrote a letter specifically tailored to explain my commitment to attending OSU). In addition I sent in my mid year transcripts, and have had continuous contact with the representative for my area and constantly expressed great interest in attending OSU and explained to her that I’ve been working extremely hard in school which will be proven through my mid year frades. I think I’ve done all I can do to make it clear that I’ve worked my butt off to receive admission to OSU.
I’m so anxious to receive a decision at this point. It is so difficult seeing other students with very similar stats get admitted, but I still have not received an answer
Really tired of waiting tbh, I applied in September and was deferred January 18th ish I think. I’m thinking I’ll probably just got to UF but hoping for the best!
Just using logic (no word from OSU), if we truly will hear a decision by April 1, we will find out Monday-Friday because they are closed on the weekends which would be March 30th and March 31st
For those asking- yes, some students have been denied. I have a friend (in state) who was denied and offered a spot at a regional campus back in December or January. But I can’t speak for out of state students, since my friend is in state and all in state students have the option of attending a regional campus.
