I just got off the phone with admissions, the gentleman said that all students will find out by Sunday March 31st and that they usually don’t send out decisions early in the week. For the posts above, I doubt that OSU will respond any later than March 31st. On all their websites and from the admissions rep I have heard that they answer everyone by March 31st
@1990OSUgraduate congrats to your daughter, do you mind posting her stats?

@1990OSUgraduate very interesting. Basically the same exact stats as her as well as taking academy classes and will finish with 30 credit hours. Hopeful
@datdudetd I have almost the exact same stats as well, I’m hoping we receive good news
Has anyone received a decision so far this week?
Im wondering the same thing.
Nope
No word. Portal hasn’t updated. At this point, very discouraged. Child thinking of moving on at this point. It’s extremely annoying and upsetting. This whole process has been horrible. Conflicting information, they don’t return emails. This should be an exciting time for students not heartbreaking.
Nothing still. Applied 11/1 for CAS/Journalism major. I specifically applied EA for merit and/or honors consideration, so the lack of communication we’ve received and the report that there’s no money left is extremely frustrating and disheartening.
@nitronicala were you deferred?
My son moved on. He doesn’t check portal anymore.
I check for him. Nothing.
Honestly I could care less about merit! I just want a decision. This is my top school, I fell in love with OSU and it’s really upsetting because I’m starting to fall out of love with OSU all because their admissions process is a complete mess. If you asked me 2 months ago what my top three schools were I’d respond “my number one is OSU and the rest of the schools don’t have a rank to me, OSU is where I want to be” but if you ask me now, I’ll just give my top 3 schools and my second choice is slowly inching its way in front of OSU because I don’t want to wait any longer and because I feel more supported by the schools that actually made efforts to have a easy admissions process. I’ve been deferred from a couple of schools but I’ve heard back from ALL of them but OSU. Really don’t understand OSUs process of admissions. What makes the kids that paid for an earlier decisions notification deserving of finding out last when they get deferred?
And not to sound obsessive over OSU, but I was so upset by my Deferral I cried for the first month just thinking about it! I seriously would cry and stress myself out by saying I would just go to community college if I didn’t get into OSU! At this point if I think about it I’m just like “eh I don’t really care just give me a decision so I can get on with my life and go to a school that actually wants me!” It’s absolutely insane the impact OSU Admissions has on the kids that dream of attending but get deferred.
i am totally the same i have been on college visits to my other two top schools besides ohio this week and every time i’m asked what i think and where i want i can’t make a decision until i hear from osu and it’s killing me that i have to wait so long to make a decision
@oj2018
same feelings.
We are visiting the other top 2 schools. At this point, we are assuming to be thrown on a waitlist 4/1. The regional admissions people don’t even write the students back it’s just terrible. I hope the dean of admissions reads all of these posts. I hope those top students who used OSU as a safety are not going to attend and all the deferred kids pick another school. I hope it happens that way… we are moving on!
They just have such a confusing admissions process. So many good students with high GPAs, scores, and extracurriculars were deferred, while others with the exact same stats were admitted months ago. I am just hoping that the wait is worth it
@STEM2017 what school did your son decide on?
I’m really hoping we are not just automatically waitlisted during the last round
