Applied EA, still am in evaluation stage. 32ACT, 3APs, strong ECs (Eagle scout, leadership, etc.) but a poor W GPA 3.63 and class rank of 38/111. Are my chances for the Columbus campus any better or worse than a coin flip?
@lenrescal what number grade does your 3.63 weighted gpa represent? What is your gpa unweighted? The act looks good.

My S got deferred on Dec 20 and the status hasn’t changed at all. I keep looking to see if the things that are said on this forum like “deferred has switched to evaluation” or pages that turn blank. Nothing has changed that I know of. There is a note at the bottom of the page after I click deferred. It says this “ After an initial evaluation, your application has been referred for second review. A final decision will be made by the end of March. You will receive further information by mail.”
Hearing something by mail just sounds bad. I hope that’s not the case because OSU is his first choice. Anyone else have this on the bottom of their deferred status?
My one daughter got the same message with her deferral but my other daughter (twins) still hasn’t heard anything. They both want to go here. ugh.
For those who have been deferred, did you find out by checking the portal frequently or did your kids receive an email saying their application status has been updated? My daughter hasn’t been checking the portals at all for any school. I think she’s afraid to see bad news.
MY daughter got deferred last year. Then found out on Mach 31 that she was wait listed. Then on May 9, got only admitted to Newark Campus. A lot f stress. Should have confirmed Newark after deferral to get the scholarships , etc. She still goes to all campus activities and has smaller classes. Next year she transitions to main campus. Waiting now for my son to hear if admitted or not.

May not be a great question, but for OSU I am listed as rolling decision. Is rolling and EA the same thing?
@LivD99 OSU is a rolling decision school. To answer you question, to be considered for EA application, you would have had to submit your complete application no later than November 1st. If submitted after that date, you would be considered for regular decision. I hope that helps you.
