When we went to tour housing in October, they explained this to us too. I heard (so nothing official) their reasoning is to try and help keep roommates together vs before when more people would select their own room and those selecting later couldn’t find a room with 2 open spots.

Hi! Should I go ahead and get parking? Or wait until I know exactly what dorm I will be in.

This is one of the things at A&M that isn’t based on timing. It is a true lottery. Because of that, I would wait until you know if your dorm is on the north or south side of campus.

Wait. Parking is a true lottery draw-doesn’t matter if you apply first or last day.
Be sure you list WCG as an option…or you will not get a spot.

Update on EH: Commended Scholar son did not get into EH. Missed NMSF by 3 points and was invited to the National Scholars Day.

Son got into Engineering Honors! His good friend did not though :frowning: Main difference was class rank, mine was auto-admit, and mine had a little higher SAT. I wonder what else really holds weight…like do those essays and rec letters mean a lot? Who knows.

I wonder that too. We are at a non ranking school. My son had a 1470 SAT. What did yours have?

Mine had a 1490. I mean, I think his essays were really good and I presume his rec letter was good but who knows? He was super specific about the kinds of research he is interested in.
