Is housing Phase 1 still showing temporary status because trying to figure out if we even bother filling it out if it’s moved to waitlist already?

They updated their FB page about going into Temporary Status on 1/27. There has not been an update since. So I imagine they are still in Temporary Status. Here is the link to their FB page so that you can watch for updates. ResLife FB Page

So grateful for the Gateway admission
my son is very stressed about the “temporary housing” and “housing not guaranteed for fall” with Gateway. How are other Gateways feeling? Any words of wisdom I can share with him? He is coming from Cleveland so he’s feeling like it’s risky. I should add that he’s very social and really looking forward to a “normal” dorm and college life.

There are a lot of dorm feel college student housing near and away from campus. Please give him some peace of mind on that. Truly a great atmosphere wherever he lands.

Temp Housing IS guaranteed a bed.
Waitlist is NOT guaranteed (and rarely any move off at Wait).
Temp means you can’t ‘match’ with anyone, more than likely student won’t get off Wait.

Temp is usually assigned a bed (vs student selecting their own during dorm selection)
and that can be in a study lounge briefly. The past several years Corps dorms have housed Temp List.

My daughter is going thru her checklist on portal. Question - for the TSI requirements, does she need to submit SAT/ACT scores again since she sent them when applying and they are listed on her Test Scores app in portal? Just don’t want to pay to send again if they use what is already there. And if needed to be sent - can she just send one of the test scores (ie just SAT or just ACT).

They’ll use her already submitted scores

It took several weeks (maybe even closer to 2 months?) to get a green check on the TSI requirement so don’t be alarmed if it takes awhile, but they did just use scores already submitted. Housing took a few weeks too but not near as long. Did she get the TAMU email figured out?

Thank you. Yes, we got her TAMU email figured out. The portal is a little overwhelming but then easy peasy with other items - lol.

@Christi1993 @52ag82 are there admitted student days at A&M or is it just Aggieland Saturday? OOS and just admitted so this Saturday would be a tough one to pull off. Thanks!

No ‘admitted student days’
Aggieland Saturday is primarily for prospective students, like sophomore & juniors (tho anyone can attend).
New Student Conference (NSC) is your best bet. You could schedule to come a day prior, or stay a day later-take official campus tour, drive around campus and B/CS.

You do not get to choose. We did stay at the dorm and it was fun to do with my daughter and we walked all around campus. It was convenient. We parked in the assigned lot and didn’t use our car the entire time. We ate breakfast and lunch at the dining hall. We walked to northgate for dinner.

When / how can a newly admitted student buy a parking pass?

Woah, you are jumping WAY ahead. Parking is guaranteed for freshman living ON campus, but don’t expect anything other than Lot 100 if living OFF campus.
Student needs to be following Parking & Transportation page, and NSC Checkist for dates to apply-it’s months away.

He will be on campus. Thanks.
