Advise neighbor who may be making a poor fit choice?

  1. the people who post on CC with questions are soliciting advice; here, we’re talking about unsolicited advice; and
  2. IRL, we need to worry about the fallout and effect on on-going relationships. On CC, no such concern.</p>

<p>Actually, probably YES…because we all have no emotional attachment or strings with this personal acquaintance and we’ll never meet him or her, then we can give opinions without having to pull punches and this acquaintance can decide what to do with the advice without hurting anyone’s feelings by ignoring the advice.</p>

<p>Chedva: About your point 1) The way I read the OP, the neighbors did, in effect, reach out and solicit advice, by coming over and asking questions. </p>

<p>I agree with your point 2) that the anonymity of C.C. makes it perhaps better than real life for getting unfiltered advice.</p>
