So I’m a junior and I’ve been pretty good so far taking all Ap classes BUT, I have one B in Honors English II (which doesn’t count as an honors apparently) and I’m pretty sure ill get another B second semester in English 3. Des this really matter if I’m not going to a field of writing? Does it affect my chances next year for ex. USC, UCLA, etc.?
Thanks!

I’m afraid your only option now is community college. If they even accept you. If not there’s always Mcdonald’s.

Ay, don’t sweat it so much! Those Bs will definitely not get you rejected. Examine possibly why you got those grades (which, btw, are not bad grades AT ALL), and change some habits next year (or now!) to avoid this same situation.

A bit more college advice (take with a grain of salt, of course): focus on presenting yourself as someone colleges cannot replace, which extends beyond grades. Just like how those Bs will not get you rejected, As will not necessarily get you accepted.

Yo Vietnamese bro, I too have a B in my English right now, and yes, part of my confident had been destroy. However, things like this leave you with little choice but to move forward. In a way, it acts as a motivation to go out and try everything you can put your hands on. I ran for class officer which I never known I would even consider doing so. Point is, there are more thighs that you can do to beside the stereotypical grade perfect Asian. Usually in UC school, different from the schools of the Northern state, they want to see an active student not just in grade but also in social and other academics. My advice is not to be too skeptical at the starting line, apply for many thing and then you’ll have a lot of resources to choose from…But anyway about the low English grade. If you’re a perfectionist and you turn in things late, try to do as much things as you can in your given time and just turn it in(sometime details are minor). If you’re having early senioritis or just having trouble with the course-READ more! it’s the best thing you can do. It’s all about you INTAKE and then INPUT (to grade). Do a lot of intake/input and it’ll get better.

I think we can all agree that English is a b**** She like the B words so much, she denied us all A’s on our report card.

The phrase ‘‘all As and one B’’ makes no sense. :)
