All my apps Freezing after visiting your site?

Thanks for reviewing my thread. I find all my apps/browsers are getting freeze, when I visit forums of this site. It looks like some hidden scripts are getting activated and draining my resoures. My windows task manager shows Firefox consuming my memory rapidly for no reason.

I am not able to close firefox/other apps. Nothing is responsive. This is happening after your new site roll out.

How do I resolve this ?

@MDRI, our tech team recommends clearing your cookies. Also, Firefox has what’s called “Enhanced Tracking Protection.” It sometimes breaks sites with ads. You could try turning it off to see if it helps.

I am on Chrome on a PC and it is freezing on me as well. The scroll bar won’t work and the posts won’t load. I can’t even log out.

@ikg4answers, can you please try in an incognito window and let me know if you experience the same issues?

Another recommendation from our tech team is to try a “hard refresh”: What is a Hard Refresh? How to do a Hard Refresh in Any Browser. | Gavel

No, it doesn’t seem to be doing it on incognito.

On incognito it isn’t outright freezing but the lag/delay seems to be in the scroll feature. It keeps wanting to stop me at my previous post or last read or other stops along the way. I’m trying to scroll to the bottom to bookmark a long thread and then get out of it so that I can move onto the next thread that I had bookmarked in the old format. I think Chrome’s scroll is battling (I’m not an IT person) with your scroll and the page just stops loading.

I REALLY like the fact that I can go back and add/edit this same post rather than spamming this thread with multiple posts.

I moved back to the regular page because the ads in the incognito mode were driving me crazy. Now that I am back I realize that as I navigate up and down the page, it is waiting for ads to load and eventually just freezes. I have an adblocker so the ad doesn’t show up but the grey circle where the ad is trying to load just keeps circling until it freezes.

Mobile app UNUSABLE.

Thanks for your replies.

Why are you expecting us to make settings changes to work with CC site? It is not making sense.

If my browser settings in Windows computer work with other sites, like googe/yahoo/amazon … etc, without any issues. it should work with CC same way.

It look like, your site was not properly tested with multi browser basic/common settings before rollout.

I find many such sites focused their re-build for mobile users and failed with existing user base. It is not a wise decision. I am not sure, whether CC moving in that direction.

This sounds like you’re saying this site now only works if a user turns off privacy features? We have to allow you to track us to have a functional site?

Regarding cookies, I am in CA so have a cookies settings pop up at the bottom. When I click on the “Settings” button, nothing happens.
