Am I crazy?

I applied to an HYP early. The weird thing is I find myself hoping that I get rejected. I feel like if I get into one of those, I’ll have so much pressure to be ‘perfect’ and to do something along the lines of changing the world. Is this normal? Do you think I’m just being crazy cuz of the stress of applications?

That is actually not that crazy, especially if you have the mindset that everyone who goes to ivy league schools are type A, which is not true. But if you feel deep down somewhere that going to one of those schools would be a mistake (after visiting and researching, etc.), then it probably will be. If part of you doesn’t feel like the school you applied to was a great fit, then I would definitely keep your other options open.

Guess so. Just feels weird.

The fact is, if you applied there in the first place, you are probably already a motivated person. Don’t hope that you get rejected! If you get accepted you are allowed to apply elsewhere, and even turn down the acceptance if you feel you don’t fit. But most likely if you are accepted, you are a good fit.
