Am I eligible for the EOP Program?

OP is planning to major in music but maybe could add a double? I know that’s likely unlikely and no idea if they are STEM inclined.

The $125K is interesting. OP was saying the dad made $120K after taxes. Now says $120K.

I’m sure they will need to provide documentation so dad should be up front and find out what they’re using - it sounds here like AGI.

  • Adjusted combined federal household income of $125,000 or less

It says it’s last dollar; I wonder what else they’d be eligible for to make it “last dollar”.

But this is a case where sometimes parents aren’t up front with their kids, but they have to work together - because there could be a large difference of over vs. under $125K - and it sounds like they might be in that range.

Good info - thanks for posting.

Yes. Thank you. I have made the decision that I will be going for a music ed degree to hopefully be able to teach at a college. After my bachelor’s degree, I will get a job, probably at a high school, and save up money to go for my master’s, and start teaching as an adjunct. Then I will have to go for my doctorate after I have saved up some money.

Also, it’s my grandma, not my mom. Ih have three CCs in mind now!

you MAY start teaching as an adjunct IF you can get a job. And unless you have 2 or 3 different teaching positions on different campuses, you will not be able to support yourself, let alone save money for MORE graduate school.

Slow down! The world isn’t running out of music or education.

Colleges such as Kutztown, Shippensburg, and Millersville are EXCELLENT for music/education (they were founded as teachers colleges).

SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Potsdam offer music education, and SUNY Albany, Bing, Geneseo, as well as New Paltz and Purchase offer a general Music degree which you can complete with an education credential.

Ithaca is very good for music, too but run the NPC to see costs.
St Lawrence and Niagara may have what you want, too, but run the Npcs
