Am I making the right decision?

So for the past few years I’ve been taking German. And I’ve been hating it. I took German II in my ninth grade year, and by the time tenth grade rolled around, new teachers were hired that couldn’t teach for crap and eventually they brought a new guy in who isn’t teaching them well at all.

I dropped out at that point and “started” taking an online course at Oklahoma State University, and that sucked too. Basically, German has been a terrible experience for me since I started it in eighth grade.

Now I’ve decided to ditch German, and since my school does not offer Latin, enroll in EPGY (Education Program for Gifted Youth) and hopefully go up through AP Latin and take the AP test.

Is this the right decision, dropping German and taking Latin (through AP)? Will it look weird if German II shows up in my ninth grade year and then doesn’t for the rest? I am very motivated, aside from this situation, so I plan to go through AP, no questions, as soon as possible.

Anyways, thanks for reading and give me your thoughts.

I don’t think it matters. You tried something out early on and decided it wasn’t for you.
